http://www.clark04.com/

Clark is trying to raise $1 million by Dec. 31st

Supporters have donated $125,000+ in just the last day or so.

Help out!

And this one is targeting Dec 31, which is a different day.

23. not true....
"Also, when you contribute to the CCN birthday fundraiser your money is also counted towards the total for the $1 million online challenge"

It looks like since they couldn't have two fundraisers at once, that they combined them into one. That's a little bit disingenious.

34. Nope--and stop trying to squish on our morale, please =P
Part of the point of the Birthday Fundraiser was to track donations that came through a tool that uses a specific email address (it was also in response to a specific request from the Community Network).

The One Million Dollar fundraiser tracks all online donations, so there's no way the birthday stuff couldn't have been double counted.

Disingenous? Maybe? But no one asked as to where the funds came from for those last 5 bats at the end of 3Q either...campaign tactics are 90% propaganda anyway...

36. If Dean fans have learned one word it should be "disingenious"
It would certainly seem to describe his fund raising strategy.

Just a quick review:

First a "leak" in an obliging newspaper painting Dean as the
victim and smearing the Kerry and Gephardt's teams as the perps.

Simultaneous multiple posts from DUers, apparently in constant
contact with the mother ship, about the dastardly alleged deed,
coupled with lots and lots of fund raising for Dean and much
pressuring of people here to immediately "denounce the ad" and
donate to Dean!

Then days of "denounce/donate..." threads to milk the heck out of it.

And still, I haven't seen a post from one DUer who saw the
alleged ad broadcast on TV.

I'm amazed it leaves you with so much time to patrol other
candidates threads for, egags, birthday/year end fund raising!!!
The horror...

Speaking of "disingenious" slinkerwink.

;-)

49. How is this for disingenious?
The last big Dean fundraiser they put up 5 bats. They were never going to make the 5th bat so they changed it from raising $5 mil to raising $15 mill overall which was more attainable. Then after missing the $15 mil. Dean supporters went running around saying that they made it.

The point is that this silly bickering is unnecessary. Trying to squash support for a fellow democratic candidate is disingenious.

38. I'd be willing to wager actual money on that rumour...
...as being wrong. Clark won't be close. It doesn't really matter anyway since Clark has chosen to unilaterally disarm which leaves him dead in the water after the primaries should he win the nomination. Once he gets to 25.4 million raised, he essentially can't take another dime.

If you want to bet on which candidate ends the quarter with more money raised in the October-Decemeber period, just send me a message. I could use the dough.

39. Incorrect
The decision to accept federal funds for the primary campaign does not limit Clark in the general election.

The primaries and the general election are two different decisions. Clark will take FEC funds for the primary. He STILL has the option to decide what to do in the general election.

Please stop spreading this untruth.

none of the candidates will reject matching funds for the GE. Dean skipped matching funds for the primary so he can blow as much as he wants on the primary. There will be no reason to reject them for the GE.

and his flip flopping on the issue of campaign finance... he could very well have stayed in the limits for the Primary against Democratic opponents and then forgone them in the General.

62. Oh so CLark will reverse his stance on caps and limits for the GE?
Seems rather hypocritical considering how many attacks the Clarkies have shot off at Dean for doing the same during the primary season.

And the problem is that there are several months between the end of the primary and the start of the GE cycle. Time where the dem would be unable to respond to Bush attacks.

I thought the whole push for CLark was how much better he'd be regarding attacks... looks like that's simply not true.

83. Can't speak for all "Clarkies"
But Clark has NEVER attacked Dean for opting out of the limits for raising money in the Primary season. He blames BUSH for sistorting the role of money in politics to the extent that it has been distorted. Clark only challanged Dean to target the extra war chest that he is able to raise outside of the public finance limits during the primary season, for later use against Bush directly, and to abide by the state by state caps set by public financing for use by Democrats against Democrats in the primaries.

I remember it was taking forever to get those candles lit, and today we got a lot lit in a few hours.

And his million dollar challenge is going as a very quick clip.

Is anything happening? He just seems to have gotten a much higher rate of online fundraising in the last two days or so.

And the "justice" General Clark is referring to is Saddam's trial.

"So I offer the following four-point concrete proposal to bring Saddam Hussein to justice. My proposal addresses several important issues.

The first is location. Above all, we should accept the Iraqi people's desire for justice. And because of that, the trial against Saddam should be public and held where the atrocities were committed--in Iraq."

You know, I don't see Dean attacking the other candidates like that. If you don't want to follow his example then Dean probably isn't who you should be voting for-or Clark, Kucinich, Braun, Sharpton, and so on.

78. Why?
You actually think the government doesn't already know your name, social security number, address, phone number, and make and model of your car? Or that they couldn't find out even without Axciom?

Do some research. All the information Acxiom has was obtained legally and most of it the government already posseses (and the government has even more!) All Acxiom did was put the information in one place.

This whole idea that we have "privacy" regarding our information is a joke. I can't even get discounts at the grocery store without giving them a whole bunch of information and getting a little card that allows them to track all my purchases, right down to what brand of feminine hygiene products I use and how often I buy them.

80. Oh my
$197,702

I'd like to stay up and watch it turn to $200,000. Oh, well.

I bet tomorrow when I wake up, between the blog cake, the house parties, and the main page fundraiser, we're at half a mil. Who'd a thunk it?

:smoke:

Enough showing off. Off to bed.

82. Hey you're up over a quarter of a mill. Well on your way
Good luck on the drive. I think all the name calling is dumb. Raise your money. We can raise ours. And the voters will decide. Good luck!
