Ed Schultz rant about Scarborough?
I missed the first part of his show, and he is still coming all unglued over MSNBC and Scarborough.

What did I miss?

1. Kind of complicated, but here goes.

Howard Stern ran a spoof call of der Gropernator
making disparaging comments about women and
menstruation. Typical Stern stuff.

Some British tabloid picked up the story and
wrote it up like the call was real.

Without checking it out, Scarborough ran with it
and ripped Arnie a new one on the air, then had
to apologize later.

Schultz was pissed that Scarborough still has a
job after such a major eff up.

2. It was about Schwarzenegger
Ed was criticizing Joe for quoting Arnold saying something off the wall about women's menstrual periods and the moon (!?). Ed said Joe didn't check out his facts (so I guess ARnold didn't say it). Ed thinks Joe is a poor excuse for a journalist, if he could be called a journalist at all.

I think Ed has it in for Scarborough. Don't really know, but I found it strange that he carried on so much about it.

3. I don't find it strange at all.

After the December '04 Tsunami, Joe had a round-table discussion on his show, and the scroll at the bottom the screen read: IS TSUNAMI WORK OF ANGRY GOD?

Then you have the Shaivo spectacle that Joe helped create. He gave Randall Terry a megaphone for nearly 3 weeks to slander a husband who made a very hard, PRIVATE, decision regarding the medical treatment of his wife.

I could go on, but you get the idea. Joe is a problem, and MSNBC needs to get rid of him.

I wonder if Joe has had any people working in his MSNBC office turn up dead?

4. As an addendum
Scarborough waited a WEEK to correct this even though Schwarzenegger himself called in the next day and talked to Stern, thereby alerting everyone to the ruse.

It's probably good to remember, too, that the previous week Scarborough had G. Gordon Liddy as a guest. Liddy was in a segment about the viciousness of contemporary political discourse. This was of great interest to FAIR, because Scarborough pretended he didn't know Liddy had issued a threats of violence against ATF agents, I think, on his radio show.

6. Thank you everyone
for the background info. I do appreciate it. I did just read about the Liddy thing over at FAIR.

Joe is such a jerk.

5. Ed also doesn't like Hannity
He called Hannity a fraud last week. Some caller called in to say they were having a forum with Colmes as the lone liberal and three rabid Repubs against him, including Hannity. Ed said he'd LOVE to take them on. Anytime. I think he commented that Hannity wouldn't do that though. It would expose him as the fraud he is.

10. Ed has it in for Joe, Al has it in for Bill...
...and Stephanie has it in for Sean. Nice to have everyone all paired off!

7. Is Scarborough the same guy whose secretary died in his office
supposedly of head injuries from a fall, but the guy who did the autopsy was known for giving token or even false autopsies and there was reason to suspect the woman didn't die of a fall? In other wds, is there the possibility that Scarborough was perhaps involved in or in on the murder of this woman? Did I not read this in some newspaper clippings some time back? Isn't this the same guy? It seemed awfully suspicious to me at the time.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

9. Remember Dan Rather?

Remember the outrage over the fake memos that didn't get fact checked over at CBS? Remember all the people getting fired, and Dan Rather, the ONLY liberal anchor of a major evening newscast, retiring?

That was called journalistic integrity.

It would be tempting to compare this to the fact that nobody was held accountable for all the "mistakes" made by journalists vis-a-vis Clinton/Gore: White Water, State Troopers as Pimps, Love Canal, Internet, etc. But that would be living in the past.

So I'm guessing Ed Schultz has decided to simply go forward applying the Rather-Gate rules to conservative journalists. Except that, of course, nobody forced CBS to take action. They had the integrity to do so of their own accord. Something FOX does not and will not.

12. Giving Scarborough
A bit of credit(I hate doing this) he's got the kind of the O'Reilly thing going. He'll back Pukes 9 times out of 10 but once in a while he'll go against then, so he can't be called a complete partisan hack. I remember when it was revealed Armstrong Williams was a whore, he criticized them for that.
