MAJOR MARKETING PLOY - FIGHT FIRE WITH FIRE -- NEW SLOGAN:
One comment on Crooks and Liars suggested we push the idea
that * is the ANTI-CHRIST. For some reason, this notion
REALLY resonates with me.

1. I tried to fight fire with fire once
and I'm still being burned. Repubs have endless energy to pursue their agenda; take up their tools and risk becoming them. Highlight the gap between their actions and words and you have a start (note outcomes, not speeches). Note the gap between religious claims and how Christ behaved. They are stuck in "mode" and cannot, cannot, cannot change the party line once they've gotten started, so keep aware of earlier witch hunts and make them well known in juxtaposition, such as the previous use of fillibusters versus the current hatred of fillibusters when they'd lose.

When you fight the empire, you risk becoming it, to roughly quote a Phillip K. Dick novel.

3. Wow. What a well-thought-out response. Thanks.
Still, the image of thousands of people carrying placards with "* as the ANTI-Christ" soothes me somehow. But, I'll get over it.

5. Hey, I'd love to see that too
no question :-)

But, these people are in there like tape worms and if we come off as justifying their claims of "other faith" it's not good.

2. nice idea but
no one will buy it. According to Tim LaHaye (coauthor of the Left Behind series), the antichrist is supposed to be charismatic, intelligent and articulate. (LaHaye was interviewed on NBC last night.) Intelligent and articulate Bush ain't.

4. Well, the PUGS accuse US of things that don't resemble the truth
Edited on Thu May-05-05 08:04 PM by BigBearJohn
why should that stop us? minor details... (grin)
close enough

Then the pugs would have to admit that he's not smart enough
to be the anti-christ. In either case, we win. hoo hoo hoo hoo

7. Consider the moral and spiritual consequences of leveling this accusation
unless you know it to be fact. In my view, the consequences would be great. I would only say it if I knew -- not believed -- that it was fact.

WASHINGTON DC -- According to freelance journalist Wayne Madsden, "George W Bush's blood lust, his repeated commitment to Christian beliefs and his constant references to 'evil doers,' in the eyes of many devout Catholic leaders, bear all the hallmarks of the one warned about in the Book of Revelations--the anti-Christ."

9. In the meantime
I've reconciled myself to putting these little cards on people's cars. It usually makes me feel better when I've tagged one.

One of my intentions with this card was to reinforces the idea that George is the anti-christ.

11. He may or may not be
But we do know their actions are anti-Christ, as in war is an anti-Christ action.
