3. Bush was laughing at the dinner but I wonder if Laura got yelled at once
Edited on Wed May-04-05 12:17 PM by spooked911
they got home. (I'm not referring to the cartoon-- I just wonder if Bush was mad at her comments at all.)

19. Heard Ron Reagan say that it was the same writer that did the ...
'Second Hand Rose' bit for his mom when they were in the wh. Didn't catch the writer's name, though.

Don't know what that shows @ the writer, other than he/she has a twisty sense of humor. Didn't Nancy's bit end up ticking off people that she would mock 2nd hand while they were decreeing ketchup was a veggie?

represented so accurately in the 'toon have it bad but at least they aren't married to the homicidal monkey boy that will go down in history as the most deadly joke on the World.

And pickles is so brain dead..I wonder if she's even aware of that?

6. Husband's job? How about BOTH of their
jobs! We really are sliding back to the '50s with this nation's attitude towards women and work. I was raised by a single mother-like millions of other Americans-and her job could have been outsourced, too (mine mostly has been)!

Other than that, it's a very poignant cartoon.

7. Point taken.
Still, I think he was consciously emphasizing the "housewife" part of "Desperate Housewives" for effect.

13. Thank you....
...so here it is:

"...George didn't know much about ranches when we bought the place. Andover and Yale don't have a real strong ranching program. But I'm proud of George. He's learned a lot about ranching since that first year when he tried to milk the horse. What's worse, it was a male horse."

Jeez, that's awful :hurts:

14. yep.
About as bad as it gets. I keep imagining the press First Lady Teresa would get if she stooped so low as to tell a joke like that. Which she'd never do. Look what they did to her for "Shove it."
