Bush's Rasmussen Numbers Collapse In Post-News Conference Polling
5/3/05

"All interviews for today's results were completed after Friday's Presidential News Conference."

Looks like the Little President's babblefest didn't sway the citizens to whatever it was he was pushing. Maybe Rove's next act will be to put a cowboy hat on his head and lock him in a glassbox where he can be seen and not heard? Seems to work for Mao.

5/1 Approve 51% Disapprove 48%
5/2 Approve 49% Disapprove 50%
5/3 Approve 46% Disapprove 53%

1. I think the falling ratings
are due more to other things, like gas prices, poor economic news, more deaths in Iraq, his hand holding and kissing of the Saudi, etc.
If the news conference played a role, it was probably because of his insensitivity to the gas prices. People seem immune to his stupid demeanor.

3. The falling ratings are due to the fact that he interrupted Survivor
for a good part of his base.

2. I was wrong on this one...
I thought they would push him up after his "news" conference. I could a lot of static for that prediction. :) Maybe this is a sign things are turning the other way??

10. You get...
... a good :spank:

:) I'm telling ya, the tipping point is finally here. It's not necessarily here for a good reason (gas prices are probably most of it) but it's here.

When Gallup says that 50% of Americans believe that Bush** actively deceived them about WMDs, you can bet the real number is 55%-60%.

And you can bet that people, having realized they've been lied to about something that matters, don't trust easily again.

I think this is at the root of Bush**'s inability to get anything going on SS. I think, and I'm betting many Americans think, that SS could use some tweaking. But they don't want Bush** touching it, because they don't trust him.

And I think he's going to find tough sledding here on out. He has forfeited the benefit of the doubt that Americans graciously gave him.

He is getting the trust he deserves.

8. It really surprises me...
that his numbers are being reported so low. Didn't anyone in the media get the memo that polling companies are to report favorably to the establishment in public and turn over the REAL numbers in private?

My guess is that Bush's numbers are even lower than indicated. From the ostensible sampling bias that has been introduced as of late, I would say we can tag on an extra 5-9% in the disapprove column.

It is a good thing that public opinion is turning against him...apparently, this administration has "jumped the shark", but then again, with our elections becoming "faith-based" and a media fawning over the establishment,. does the opinion of the public still matter?

I would say no, as evidenced by the insistence of Republicans to push forth their unpopular agenda regardless of public opinion. They know they are no longer held accountable to the people.

11. Depends upon the credibility you assign to the poll
MSM being all that, you know.

Wouldn't it be wonderful to see actual numbers? 30% approval and such?
