3. He's way too old to run for President at this point
I think he's nearing his 80s. At least mid-70s.

From what I've read, the nomination was his in either '88 or '92, had he chosen to run.

6. He's 73, for one
Although I like him and was happy to vote for him several times, I don't think he would run due to his age. I would rather place him in a longer-term position, anyway; he is certainly SCOTUS material.

Also, please reconsider the next time you casually throw in a mob reference to an Italian. Some people don't appreciate being associated with criminals because of an accident of birth. Thanks :-)

9. I should clarify...
I heard someone in his family at sometime or another had some ties. Just wondering if this may have stopped a presidential bid at one time.

10. The ludicrous Mafia musings aside
(although he would have been smeared heartily and successfully) for any number of reasons like Gore and Kerry he bowed to DLC style "wisdom" enough to cripple his chances and self-confidence.

I think because they snuck Carter in who was a nice and not too strong candidate that the theory mattered more than the nominee. The real idea is to have an overwhelming, charismatic candidate who kills the ability of the cheatin' GOP to game everything against the issue parsing Dems and the bean counters they disastrously hire.

Now is absolutely necessary so no equality, no lack of enthusiasm, no illusion of parity can justify the open theft of the election. Even so, it now is becoming a question whether even then with millions taking to the streets whether we would necessarily or easily prevail.

I don't see ANY top Democrats, past present or future, wrapping their brains around the escalating Coup situation, never acknowledged, rarely thought about and certainly not very strategically- compared to the Ukraine for example.
