Freepers claim radio host has "inside" info on DeLay resignation

Hedgecock: DeLay to resign leadership post (DeLay's Office denies rumor, he will NOT resign)
Roger Hedgecock Show, AM600 San Diego, California | April 27, 2005

Posted on 04/27/2005 1:34:07 PM PDT by John Jorsett

Roger Hedgecock is reporting on his show (being broadcast in an earlier time slot from Washington DC, just for today) that his sources tell him Tom DeLay will resign , and that the ride on Air Force One was for President Bush to tell him that it's time to step down. Hedgecock acknowledges that he's going out on a limb, since no other news/talk outlet is reporting this, but stands by his sources.

2. Well it's Bush's M.O.....
like when he appeared with the Boys and Girls Club, for instance, and then cut their funding within a couple of days.

9. Never take a photo op with Georgie.
Unless you're that scrumptious Prince Abdullah.

3. This is a typical WH move. Force Delay to give it up by leaking this story
even though Bush was telling DeLay on the plane that they'll stick behind him.

This is how they play both sides of a story while protecting their base.

18. Looks like he's havin' some sort of
pest-control related flashback there. Must not have realized that it was a microphone. Probably thought it was some kind of hideous reincarnated varmint come back to wreak vengeance upon him.

14. Yeah, unfortunately I know nothing about Hedgecock...
...so he either has REAL "inside" info or we're all being PUNK'D.

Either way, the freepers cannot come to grips with a man resigning when he's done "nothing wrong" (a comment made in one of the FR posts)...

:toast:

The Air Force One ride DOES fir Bush's pattern, though. That little photo I included of DeLay walking away from his "free ride" could easily be captioned "Dead Man Walking." The Godfather kissed his cheek, and there's nothing left for him to do but get his affairs in order before the final curtain comes down.

Because I posted these earlier today, and I would end up looking really REALLY good!

Ethics Chief Says GOP Must Change Rules
Wed Apr-27-05 11:44 AM

31. This explains Georgie's sudden chumminess with DeLay, taking him along on the Texas leg of the Social Security Bamboozle-palooza tour...

With the ethics committee back in force, all Rove and Cheney have to do now is put out the word to torpedo him--and the Bush White House will appear blameless because they gave him such a nice sendoff!

OK, YOU tell ME what DeLay is grabbing with his right hand
Wed Apr-27-05 02:34 PM

3. The day after Bush acts all lovey-dovey to DeLay inviting him on his Social Security Bamboozle-palooza tour, it's announced that the GOP will change their rules on investigating ethics complaints so that he can be investigated again!

While on Air Force One, I suspect that DeLay was also told that if he disobeyed, the rejuvinated Senate ethics committee would tear him limb from limb. As for Hedgecock's sources, they only have to be good enough to good enough to give DeLay one good final scare.

19. Could be true of course, but...
Edited on Wed Apr-27-05 06:25 PM by Boo Boo
It wouldn't be the first time Hedgecock has made an ass of himself.

Also, DeLay has been fighting an intercine battle within the Party. Notice that he attacked a Republican justice when teeing off on the Supreme Court the other day. He's rallying the extremist Fundie wing of the Party around him in an effort to prevent other Republicans, Bush especially, from backing away. Pretty crafty, actually.

Seems a little odd to invite somebody on Air Force One to tell them to quit. Usually this little privilege is a reward, and meant to signal support---that the person is in a position of favor.

Time will tell!
