Bush adds DeLay to Soc Sec tour. YES!
My heavens, I don't know which one will sink the other faster. What a boon!

"CRAWFORD, Texas - President Bush is adding a helper to his Social Security road tour: House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, who is facing allegations of ethical improprieties but is seen by the White House as crucial to pushing Bush's plans through Congress."

2. Now think about this! bu$h probably thinks of this as a little promo
for Delay. After-all, he is one of the bigger fuck-up in DC right now. That alone should get him promoted to something less than bu$h in the republican party.

7. Okay guys, it is obvious that y'all don't have the
big pitcher. You aren't allowed at these meetings. So if he adds DeLay, maybe Bolton and possibly Dodson, the wing nuts will get so worked up that they may ski-taxi right on the spot. Then the TeeVee New$ can pump up Bush's mandate, and he'll be allow to destroy Social Security before he moves to destroying the UN.

:sarcasm:

10. It is the flower of the skunk cabbage!
and one of the first to emerge in the spring here in the frozen north. I have watched bees go into that ball, eager after a long winter, and which contains abundant pollen. This is how it looks before it develops those big stinky leaves! You can see one of those leaves developing to the left of the flower.

Isn't it beautiful? I find it just fascinating and cannot hate the skunk cabbage because of this flower that services the bees.

I took this picture about two weeks ago. There are no more flowers to be seen now. The pollen ball withers and dries up in a couple of days as the leaves develop.

11. Distancing himself by drawing DeLay closer
It's probably become apparent even to Chimpy that his Bamboozlepalooza Tour on Social Security has come a cropper. He sank enough dry holes during his days in the oil bidness to recognize them eventually.

What Bush is doing is bringing Toxic Tom on board so he can have someone to blame, because of course Bush is never to blame for anything. When they finally give up on privatizing Social Security, Bush will have a handy scapegoat, Troubled Tom. He'll then make some noises about how unfair it all is that the liberal media and the partisan forces have arrayed themselves against Too Bad Tom. Which is the reason why nobody except himself and a handful of his overrich buddies thought privatizing Social Security was such a good idea.

Timid Tom will then agree that it's all the fault of partisans and the liberal media, and just to save our popular war-time President from any political fallout, he'll resign his seat in the House, and Governor Goodhair will appoint a fresh Republican face for this safe district so that the GOP will hang onto the seat.

Or so says my Magic 8-Ball.

Prosecutors have dropped charges against Questerra Corp., one of eight companies facing an ongoing grand jury investigation into campaign spending in the 2002 Texas legislative races.

The companies and three associates of U.S. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay were indicted last September in connection with contributions to the Texans for a Republican Majority political action committee.

Questerra, accused of making a $25,000 contribution to TRMPAC, is the fourth company to have charges against it dropped by the Travis County district attorney. According to the dismissal, filed April 15, Questerra agreed to cooperate with the prosecution and investigation of the case.

Cracker Barrel, Sears, Roebuck and Co. and Diversified Collections Services Inc. have reached similar dismissal agreements with the office of Travis County District Attorney Ronnie Earle.
