Trying to make sense of what's going on in the Senate today?
Steve Clemons explains it all to you

What we're seeing is the minority party trying its damnedest to stand up and demand that the senate do something their way - these are very unusual proceedings

10. Kerry, Biden and Carper voted "Aye" but Boxer, Kennedy
voted "No". I am assuming that is a bad thing since Boxer was the one protesting the recess and only about 6 people voted no, or are they votes on other things? They've read thru the list a couple of times. What do they have to do that's more important - a round of golf on a nice day rather than protect America from the true "EvilDoers". ALL the dems should be behind Boxer 110%. What's up!

6. Clemons was on Democracy Now this a.m.
He thinks many repugs are not at all sure of Bolton; if Luger calls for a continuance, he's not too sure either. I guess they have to decide to either vote their party or conscience. Why is that such a difficult prospect?

7. This is a taste of what will happen if the nuclear option is exercised
The Democrats can effectively shut down most of the workings of the Senate if the nuclear option is exercise. This is a very small taste of what the GOP is in for if the nuclear option is exercised.

Sgt at Arms to go round up the Senators to vote on a recess? Man, I go to lunch and all he11 breaks loose.

Forget it -- too much to try to listen at work and actually *DO* my work at the same time.

I think the guy narrating Cspan is confused too.
