Sirius will no longer carry Air America Radio.
This deserves it's own thread. Crud:

Air America Signs With XM Satellite Radio

"When the deal begins in May, Air America Radio will no longer air on Sirius Satellite Radio, which has 1.2 million subscribers to XM's nearly 3.8 million."

1. Well, that's good for them, then
I'd rather have a pool of three million than a pool of a million. Gotta look at the bottom line, get the message out.

If you are invested in the other, find some Howard Stern fan who has XM and trade.

7. Once HS launches his well-promoted Sirius show, however,
how much of an advantage will XM retain? I'm sure there are probably a lot of Stern fans who prefer to wait until he moves over before subscribing, which is reasonable.

Also, should we be worried about the fact that XM is owned by ClearChannel, IIRC?

2. It's too bad that they have to choose one or the other to carry AAR
I have xm so I'm ok, but I'd be mad if I had purchased a Sirius system just for AAR.

9. XM costs a bit less each month also
so that should be good and probably help many make an easier decision on which one to get if they decide to get satellite radio.

12. Stern is going to be on Sirius
starting in 2006 I think. The reason I chose Sirius is because of two lefty channels. I am pissed and may ask for my money back.

17. Sounds like its out of Sirius' control
AAR made an exclusive deal with XM, and XM probably would not allow AAR shows to air on Sirius under any circumstance.

16. I have a strong feeling
that Sirius and XM will merge in the near future. I read recently they were in the talking stage----but the story was quickly denied.
