Someone posted a specific law that Cornyn may have broken
with his comments re. "activist" judges on the Senate floor yesterday. Can anyone remember this post or find it for me? My senator's office is interested in this issue...

2. From Raw Story

You should be aware that your comments yesterday may violate a Federal criminal statute, 18 U.S.C. §115 (a)(1)(B). That law states:

“Whoever threatens to assault…. or murder, a United States judge… with intent to retaliate against such… judge…. on account of the performance of official duties, shall be punished

4. Broken law
The reference provided in reply #2 is correct although the remark was made about the comments from Tom Delay in reaction to the Terry Schaivo (sic) case Vs Cornyn's comments. Still seem appropriate either way.

7. Just a thought
Comments made during legislative sessions are likely immune from criminal prosecution. I do know that they're immune from defamation actions.
