10. I think treatment of journalists is a major factor in the score
censorship figures in as well but there's no explanantion to exactly how the score is tabulated.

I always thought the UK had a more free press than ours. I'm also surprised Spain and Italy are below us.

In fact I thought we'd be lower. I'm not sure how the score is tabulated. If there were a way to measure distortion and poor coverage, we'd probably rank lower.

15. The UK press...
certain aspects of the UK press are very good, but they are in the minority. The BBC's mainstream news coverage is appalling- the news readers are like kindergarten teachers. So many reports are from seasoned, respected journalists giving their reports through clenched teeth, because they know its horsesh*t, but they are being forced.

On the plus side, they do make documentaries etc, that are very good, but that they know only the already informed will watch and these tend to be shown late at night on BBC2 or C4.
