1. My mom loves this guy
And I tell her, "But Mom, I AM a card-carrying member of the ACLU." Then I go on to tell her all the wonderful things that the ACLU has done and is doing.

It bounces right off her.

"But O'Reilly said...."

Sigh.

5. wonderful how he and Rush...
are just ready to send the ACLU to Hell, but as soon as THEY need help (i.e., Rush's medical privacy suit), nothing is said about ACLU representing them. Buncha damned hypocrites!

4. Well , he's half right.
The greatest threat to your freedom is not Al-Qaeda , it's Christian Fundamentalism.

6. I wish
he only just "bugged" me. As it is I can't stand the very sight of him with his sanctimoneous, righteous, arrogant, bullying attitude and his completely uninformed and dangerous access to millions of people who base their opinions on what that douche bag says.

I commend you for your ability to remain rational when speaking of him and apologize for "douche bag". I just can't help it where he's concerned.
:)

7. Yep
He bugs me too. Ugh. One time on this other board someone said they disliked the ACLU and listed all what they do and asked if they hated them now and never heard from them again. :eyes:

9. I'm all in favor of letting nazis and the KKK march
Then people can see how pathetic they are.

Neo-nazis are all emaciated, tattood, toothless tweekers, and the KKK are all obese, middle-aged white dudes who look one pork-chop or a flight of stairs away from a MASSIVE coronary. Both the KKK dudes and the neo-nazis live in a trailer with their mom and flunked out of 10th grade.

Shit, I'd go to one of their rallies just to heckle the back end of the white bell curve. I really don't understand how either of these groups can think they're better than anyone. Yeah, like there might be a family of Mexicans living in Tijuana that you might be MARGINALLY superior to, or one African guy in Zimbabwe that you have something on. Maybe. Doubtful, but possible, I guess.

Basically, I am to racists what racists are to other races. I consider them objects of derision, and I sleep cozy every night knowing I am smarter, richer, better looking, better educated, and generally inherently superior in every way to them.

So if they want to have their 10-man-march on the Bakersfield City Hall, who cares?

10. If it really bugs you when he says this, Join the ACLU,
and let O'Reilly know about it. :)

I've been a member since October 2001, when the threats to our freedom from Within became too obvious to ignore.

13. Right on!
I became a monthly donor to the ACLU in response to the November election results. If America is going to move that far to the right, then I want to strengthen the right wing's enemy! The real reason the right wing hates the ACLU is because they have been successful in the Courts. The right wing hates the judicial branch!

I think the greatest threat to our freedom isn't Al-Qaeda, or the ACLU, but bloviating right-wing nutjobs who spew lies and hatred over our airwaves.
