Andrea Mitchell gets her facts wrong on Imus
I watched a very small portion of Imus in the Morning this am (3/29) and even in this tiny amount of time I caught a "Big Foot" media personality getting her facts wrong. Andrea Mitchell while commenting on the story about Tom DeLay pulling the plug on his dad (and defending Delay - what a shock) noted that the father had injured himself in a "work-related accident". From what I read of the LATimes story the elder Delay was NOT injured in an accident at work but injured when riding what seems to have been some kind of home-rigged tram with his wife, a friend and I believe the friend's wife as well.

Is this a major point of the story? No, how Mr. DeLay was injured is not relavent to the issue of his son's hypocrisy. It does however tell you a lot about Andrea Mitchell and her skills as a journalist. Things like gathering the facts, paying attention to detail and being precise with language should be the foundation of any journalists skills but I guess if you're Mrs. Alan Greenspan the rules don't apply. How many other little details has Andrea Mitchell reported incorrectly?

1. I normally appreciate Andrea's work, but this time she blew it
She had her facts wrong on the cause of the injury, BUT was well on her way to chastize both Delay and Shrub when they of course interrupted her to defend the dynamic duo.

5. No respect for Andrea Mitchell
after watching her post-debates "analysis" on Hardball, in which she rapturously told us how Dubya had spanked Kerry each and every time out, I knew she was useless. Anyone I ever heard who told me Bush got the better of Kerry in the debates, especially the first one, immediately went on my list of right-wingers and nothing they could say or do at this point would ever make me think otherwise.

6. Then who the hell did they sue because of his injury?
They couldn't sue the employer under that circumstance.

9. It's intentional. She lies for a living.
She does not pass up any opportunity to lie on behalf of the Republicans, no matter how small or seemingly inconsequential.
