Wolfowitz's wife and girlfriend (how do they feel about each other?)

http://digbysblog.blogspot.com/2005_03_20_digbysblog_archive.html#111179303102019047

What Will We Tell The Children?

I have been reading all this stuff about Wolfowitz's neocon World Bank girlfriend and her witchy influence over him, but I didn't know until today that Wolfie is married. To another woman.

The appointment of George Bush's leading hawk as head of the World Bank was heading for a crisis over his relationship with a senior British employee.

Influential members of staff at the international organisation have complained to its board that Paul Wolfowitz, a married father of three, is so besotted with Oxford-educated Shaha Riza he cannot be impartial.

Extraordinarily, they claim she played a key role in pushing the 61-year-old Pentagon official into the Iraq War. And the row comes amid claims that Wolfowitz's wife Clare once warned George Bush of the threat to national security any infidelity by her husband could cause.
-snip-
----------------------------------

the article ends with:

Even his wife thinks he might be a threat to national security. It would be very irresponsible not to speculate that Wolfowitz is being blackmailed by a beguiling, invasion-mad, Tunisian she-devil. It really would.

there is also a pic of poppy's girlfriend. wonder what Barb Bush thought of her?

1. I'm Thinking The Wives May Have Been Relieved
that the girlfriends did all the "homework", especially Babs who got to play first lady but probably didn't have to play first wife.

2. This stuff is just too weird
Here are two more excerpts from the article:

"A British citizen - at 51, eight years younger than Wolfowitz's wife - Ms Riza grew up in Saudi Arabia and was passionately committed to democratising the Middle East when she allegedly began to date Wolfowitz.

After they moved to America, Shaha worked for the Iraq Foundation, set up by expatriates to overthrow Saddam Hussein after the first Gulf War."

If all this stuff is true it would make for a great movie script.

6. But would it be possible for anyone in Hollywood to
find someone as ugly as Wolfowitz to portray him? If I were his wife I would find it very nice that he is away from the home front.

4. Unbelievable but true.
Here's more dirt on "The Comb". Paul Wolfowitz is Jewish, and Shaha Riza is a muslim. What's more, she's a Feminist. A Muslim Feminist?@?

Wolfowitz is indeed married, but he and his wife were separated in 2001. However, he's not divorced yet. (Right, Family Values Party Dude?)

You can not make this stuff up.

14. OK why are we hiding things?
Are you saying there was a rumor that Bush1 had a relationship with Bo Derek?

I wouldn't find it surprising since her husband was decades older than her.

7. How?
Can someone so wrong about everything seem so right to women, or at least to two women.
Has anyone on this page considered that since he was so wrong on Iraq, that that was the purpose. I knew better with much less information, or study. What if they wanted Iraq, knew it would be difficult and costly, and needed someone to go on record with enough juice to make the idiots and true believers in congress believe it would be a cake walk. It takes courage to be deliberately wrong, or being wrong is necessary first step to getting the chocolate, rightly or wrongly.

was there mention of him being married. go firgure. what a world we live in for reports to talk about a girlfriend without mention of wife. i assumed he wasnt married. silly me. i guess on all things, we must do the research and not expect our news to share a wife, while speaking about a mans girlfriend.

18. Here's the Daily Mail story
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=342048&in_page_id=1770

According to one Republican Administration insider, Clare was so upset by rumours about the affair that she wrote to then President Elect Bush, saying if the story were true it could pose a national security risk.

Yesterday, she refused to comment on whether her husband had been unfaithful before their separation, saying: "I really do not want to share this with you."

She also refused to confirm her marital status - reports of his appointment repeatedly describe Wolfowitz as divorced but The Mail on Sunday has been unable to find any records. Asked if she is separated or divorced, Clare replied: "That's my business."

On the claim that she wrote a letter to Bush, she said: "That's very interesting but not something I can tell you about."

21. WAIT A COTTON PICKING MINUTE! Since they're unmarried,
and devoted Republicans, they "just say no."

After all, wouldn't it be totally hypocritical of them to urge high-schoolers to abstain from sex before they're married and then for Wolfowitz and girlfriend to do the wild thing whenever they want?

I'm sure that Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh and all those other single conservatives would never break their own code of sexual morality, would they?

Hoo boy . . .

22. he couldn't get a WalMart
management job with that impediment.

Worse, Wolfowitz, despite whatever native intelligence sparkles his resumee is a heedless romantic and applies it to real world policy regardless of consequences, suffering or even failure.

Bernie Kerik would be less of a threat because he might settle for personal job satisfaction and not destroy the world.

These appointments all signal total contempt and a move for total control by the Cheney gang. How much can they or do they want to lock down for what is coming up this year? It is going to be really really bad, not just plush jobs for cronies.
