My LTTE against the "nuclear option"
In support of MoveOn's campaign.

There's a reason it's called the "nuclear option"

If Senator Frist and the Republican caucus decide to "go nuclear" by destoying the judicial fillibuster, the fallout could range from the loss valuable labor protections to the end of affirmative action to the loss of reproductive freedom. I don't generally support the system of letting politicians pick judges, but to narrow the interpretation of the Senate's constitutional role of "advise and consent" so that one party picks all the judges destroys any sense of fairness and justice the legal system has left.
The system whereby your court case is decided by what the judge thinks is being horribly expiolted the Republicans more than the Democrats, who confirmed almost 95% of Bush's first-term judges.
Not only must the Senate keep its advise and consent rule, judges should be appointed that assures the people that if a judge has to have an opinion, it is that of the people, and not the politcians and their corporate and labor supporters.

2. A clarification
I'm not that opposed to labor donors, but the general consensus is labor money is in some ways a problem.
