What the Schiavo case says about liberals/progressives/democrats
1) We believe in the courts and the rule of law.
2) We believe in the privacy rights of the individual
3) We believe in the sanctity of marriage
4) We believe in the Constitution and the separation of powers
5) We believe in science fact instead of science fiction

Can anyone add to the list?

4. In addition to number 4
We understand the fundamental principles of American government. I don't understand how these people missed out on junior high school civics. The things Alan Keyes is saying about how he thinks things work would be scary, if anyone took him seriously.

5. Add this:
That no matter how reasonable (and even popular!) our positions may be, our politicians are too afraid to take a stand and articiulate them. Rather, our politicans are afraid of taking any stand whatsoever on the actual merits of the argument--they may criticize thier opponents for outrageous behavior but won't articulate an affirmative statement of the reasonableness of our position. Our politicians fail to realize that no matter how much we claim to "value life," the Republicans will always stake out a more radical claim.
