And he's supposed to be a heart doctor. I had heart surgery as a baby. I wouldn't want him one inch near me! He's my senator and that's bad enough. Luckily my heart doctor is now number one. :D

If so, given today's political climate, it would explain the mystery of how he became successful.

29. Frist said he could tell from the video that Schievo was resposive.
Gee, I wonder how many other patients he diagnosed by way of video. Might just be the key to cutting down on medical costs; too sick or too busy to go to the doctors' office? Just send 'em a video tape and they can diagnose your ailment and send you a prescription while you rest at home!

And this idiot is MY senator! I'm so proud! (sarcasm off)

Well, maybe not; the AMA has a HUUUUUUUUUUUGE lobby with the GOP. But the HMOs have the health/death industry by the balls. All they'd need to do is hire a bunch of doctors in India, China, or Latin America and set them up with uplinks. :scared:

48. i'm still trying to find out if this is the same video that was tossed out
of court because it was found to be heavily edited to make it look like random moans and reflex movements were responses to her parents.

Frist is the Senator of my State, too (I won't say he's MY Senator), and I used to think he was ok until he bcame Bush's lapdog.

Now, I have to agree with you :puke:

Be interesting to know exactly what was used in the congressional debate over the weekend. If it is bogus, it just makes the case against the time and energy they wasted that much stronger.

10. When I was watching tonight I realized
the show is about the only "news" worth watching anymore. It's not just that it helps save your sanity by being able to laugh at the horrible absurdity of the truth...but they really do point out what is so damn obvious. Things "real" news should be pointing out!

I tell people this show "saved my life after 9/11". That was when I first started watching it and it really was part of the healing. It won my heart then and I don't know how I'd get through the bush years without it.

41. Anyone know about Spyware & Privacy issues with RealAudio?
Here they say:

What Information is Sent to RealNetworks?
Product Name (e.g. RealPlayer)
Product Version
Product Type (Basic or Plus)
Serial Number (if RealPlayer Plus)
Distribution Code - to offer you software customized for the source of your player or jukebox
Player Language ID
Operating System
Country ID (RealPlayer only)
Components Installed and component versions - list of the software components that you already have so that we do not present the same software to you again
Days since last AutoUpdate check
Requested Data Type - if a missing component was detected when you played a piece of content, AutoUpdate will request that particular component

I was badly burnt from a previous infection which caused over $3000 in spending which I could scarce afford, I promised myself I would NEVER download software off the Internet.

Can anyone vouch for this site and their software? Those above rules appear fairly obtrusive...

It's been my experience not to trust even the biggest fish -- even they want demograhpical info on their customers for to make more money, and they don't care how they get it.

68. At the minimum, you need to run ad-aware
...and it is free (the basic version), it is good, and it does the trick for me. Course, I do not go far afield, if ya know what I mean. I am not a frequenter of sites that are WAY outside the internet mainstream (which is a different thing from the societal mainstream--but by that I mean no gambling, no porn...not for moral reasons, mind, it just is not my interest or need!)...and I understand that spybot does it as well, but I absolutely CRANK (relatively speaking) on dialup where I am located--my modem almost maximizes--it astounds me, all things considered!

I go to other locales where I have have DSL and broadband, and that cannot be beat for seeing videos, looking at pictures in a hurry, and whatnot, but I can survive with dialup when I must! Though I do not denigrate the better access routes--I will probably swap this location over as well, eventually.

Also, you should have some sort of virus protection. If you aren't going far afield, AVG has a free version with continuous updates, and it keeps me free from fear--five years, no issues. Of course, I never open iffy email attachments, I am an absolute DUCT TAPE ACROSS DA MOUTH mofo when it comes to PERSONAL INFORMATION (hey, why do they really need to know, unless they are selling you something, or selling your name to someone who wants to sell you somethin?) and I maintain your basic 'operational security' in all I do.

Have some fun! Call yourself Ophelia Thigh, or Jack Meiyov, or whatever suits yer fancy. They do not have a RIGHT to your personal information. Neither does the federal government, but once they turn your license into a national ID card, they'll have it!

63. What's really troubling about Frist
Edited on Wed Mar-23-05 02:55 AM by chaz4jazz
He was a heart/lung transplant guy having performed over 150 of them. For every transplanted life he may have saved, he destroyed a "life" when his team took the heart/lung out of that someone. In order for him to remove the organ from a "living" individual that person had to be declared "brain dead." So Frist in a gory and ghoulish way, had to be hoping and wishing for individuals that were breathing (keeping their vitals alive) and who could be "terminated" at the time their heart and lungs were removed. Still think he's all right? Is there a more bloody hypocrite walking the halls of Congress?
