Democrats were more united than Republicans today
it is cold comfort, but it should be noted the 42 out of 45 is more unified than 48 out of 55 and Maria Cantwell, John Kerry, Harry Reid, and all the other Dems who fought this fight deserve our thanks and support for waging what everyone knew was uphill struggle.

And those who might waver should be urged to stand firm and vote against any budget or reconciliation agreement that includes this drilling provision.

1. First: yes, we're getting there on unity in the Senate...
And, second, there WILL be oportunities later on to stop the drilling.

It's a sign of the times--indeed, the decreasing political capital Dub has--that he lost seven of his own party today.

I think we're in good shape to stop--or retaliate--on any threat of the "nuclear option" by evil Dr. Frist.

BTW, does anyone know how the vote on the "pay-go" resolution (Feingold/Chafee) went?

B-)

2. It is good to know with the most soulless, rapacious...
... environment raping proposal, it is possible to shave off some of the most moderate republicans.

That party, and the 3 traitor Dems disgust me.
