Question about that twit former Sen Fred Thompson.
I was watching the season premier of Law and Order (I live in Korea, so last Saturday was AFN's season premier.) Thompson went on about how WE liberated Muslims in Kosovo. To borrow a phrase from former Pres. Reagan (sorry about using him), I want to know, "What does he mean by WE?" I'm pretty sure Thompson, like almost every Republican, soundly criticized the liberation and ending of genocide in Kosovo. The pukies wouldn't even vote for a resolution supporting our servicemen and women -- God, it galls me how much the conservatives hate America and our Armed Forces (sorry couldn't resist).
Anyway...What is up with Law and Order. Is it now a historical revisionist show that babbles on in puke-speak or what?
I've been in Korea for over 5 years -- Please enlighten me.
BTW: F**k Thompson.

1. He's just an ACTOR now, reading lines
He didn't write them! If you don't like what his character is saying, complain to the writers!

He may be a doofus, but those are not his words, nor necessarily his sentiments. He needs the cash to support his new child bride in the style to which she will swiftly become accustomed. No fool like an old fool...

I can't watch Law and Order, of any iteration. They're all too formulaic. They used to be good at the outset, now they are boring.

2. Do you think he'd have said them if...
they were liberal talking points criticizing this administration for their ineptitude? I doubt he would.

10. I disagree
I have seen the effect he has had on the show since he arrived. Of course, the writers are partially to blame too.

4. wouldn't that be fun for the writers?
script for his character the most wildly liberal, paranoid lines imaginable. then sit back with a smile and watch him say them.

heh heh heh

5. It'd be fun, but I suspect the L&O writers don't give him lines
that he'll choke on. His character has slammed the Roe v. Wade decision, for instance.

That said, I haven't seen that much of the show for the past two years. I saw my first non-Lenny episode the other night; it was weird.

6. He slammed gay adoption too
I can't watch the show not that he's on and I've been a fan since the very beginning.

8. ABSOLUTELY
Say what you will about Fred, he is a good workmanlike actor. And he'd put on a pink tutu and dance Swan Lake if the price was right.

He's DONE with politics. It's all about the new bride and going back to what he liked best, at this stage in his life. He's out of the game.

7. He is an actor reading lines from
the script. I don't think they let the actors ad-lib their way through the show.

9. No, I think he is having some influence on the lines he is given
His comments are just too gratuitously inserted, too artificial. They really don't flow naturally but seem to be more conservative talking points--just put in to deliver a bit of spin. O'h for the days of The Defenders.

12. That's what was reported back when he joined the cast
The false notes he sounds don't manage to ruin a good show, however.

(As if someone with the views he spouts would ever be elected Manhattan DA... duh)

14. Fred Dalton Thompson is a GREAT actor. You should see
some of the performances he put up on the senate floor.

And you can just imagine how hard he worked to memorize his lines when his long time friend, CIA asset Farhad Azima, ran into a bit of bother.

It seems that Farhad Azima was very involved in an airline known as Arrow Air which happened to be transporting US soldiers (and others of questionable provenance) from Sharms al Sharif back to the US.
For some unexplained reason, the plane landed at Gander International Airport. It crashed soon after takeoff.

There was a huge fire and many of the bodies were later found to have high amounts of hydrogen cyanide in the bloodstream which is consistent with having breathed in toxic smoke from the interior furnishings of the aircraft.
For some reason, that is best not openly discussed, said bodies were also found to have been decapitated. According to reports, the Islamic Jihad tried on at least four separate occasions to take responsibility for this event but nobody believes them.

Fred Dalton Thompson is on Law and Order for a reason.
And one of these days that reason will be come readily apparent to all.
