National Call joe Lieberman Day
Edited on Sat Feb-19-05 10:29 AM by Teaser

I've been bitching, kvetching, and griping about "Shaky Joe" Lieberman and Social Security for a few days now, in one form or another, and on this blog and elsewhere. And since I've disseminated my bitching far and wide, it has occurred to me I ain't doing much good. I'm just one guy. I need a megaphone if JoJo is going to hear me. And what better megaphone than the world's most powerful non-linear amplifier: the blogosphere.

I was thinking that maybe Tuesday or Wednesday of this week we should try and clog Joe's phone lines...letting him know how we feel about his willingness to even consider phasing out social security. A coordinated time for the action would be necessary, as I think having all his staffers busy on the phones about one topic would send his office a real message. Over at DU I suggested Tuesday at 10:00 AM...but I am open minded as to the time.

Gumming up his fax machine probably wouldn't hurt either.

Please let me know if you're willing to help out with this. The more, the merrier. Let me know what day is best too.

3. More impact...
One at a time. He's the shakiest of the bunch. Do him one week. Next week do someone else...till we have all the shakies.

5. I don't know it seems like Miller of Neb and perhaps Carper of Del.
are shakier than Joe on social security reform.

10. But if Feinstein goes
we'll get Steve "Tex" Poizner (who downplayed his Texas birth, childhood and U of T Austin education -- he bloomed fully grown with a Stanford MBA in Palo Alto) or Tom McClintock.

Now, if you could assure me that Ira Ruskin would run .....

8. I see no evidence of that
Joe hasn't indicated that he's leaning any closer toward Bush's proposal than a dozen or more on our side of the aisle.

2. While you're at it
Ask him whether the hundreds of thousands he's received from credit card companies is enough to salve his conscience for promoting the bankruptcy 'reform' bill (which is about to pass) which is AWFUL for people screwed by uninsured medical bills, layoffs or other financial calamaties.

He is beyond disgusting

7. Disgusting is right! I do not know what happened
to that man. Did he get a big head running for VP? Is he carrying it over now? I simply cannot listen to that man.

4. Seems like this is also a job for the WHIP -if the Repub machine
can strongarm and eyeball their party into sucking up for Bush (well, at least they could last term), Dems should be doing the same thing. I'm also calling Reid, Durbin and Pelosi.

9. Ummmm....I don't think it will phase him...
....isn't the rumor that he will replace R(d)ummy as SOD in the not-to-distant future? He's cozying up. He's beyond help. I hear the GO(o)P is planning on having him give the keynote at the 2008 convention which will be held in Baghdad to show unity with the Iraqis. Everyone will be dipped in indelible ink before entering. (OK- So i made the last part up. Humorous, no?)

11. If most of us on DU call Lieberman's office --
-- he's going to need an asbestos earpiece.

I'll place a call if a day and time are decided on.
