Don't let Rush Limbaugh win!
Limbaugh has declared Dean DOA, and he's taking the credit. If we give up on Dean because of what the right-wing media has said about him, then They win and we lose. Don't let the big fat idiot win!

I cannot bear sitting through three hours of this windbag ramble on with his radical right-wing rhetoric, but I often check out his webpage for a quick summary of his lattest smears.

In the top story on his page from yesterday, titled "Dean Loses, Limbaugh Wins", the pig-man was gloating about how he caused Dean to lose in Iowa because Dean's attacks on Limbaugh and the right-wing have been rejected. He says Dean was running against him and that he won. He is also taking credit for Dean being labeled "angry" and "unelectable."

Read it, if you have the stomach for it:
http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_012004/content/rush_is_right.guest.html

We cannot allow the right-wing pundits to choose our candidates. They have their script written and they just drop the front-runner's name in the blanks. They will just do the same to Kerry now, and then the next guy. When are we going to learn?

35. This is why we need to target the industry of lies and hate, and of all
The stupid lies to spread, Dean is not dead yet by a long shot. If he fairs poorly in New Hampshire and on Feb. 2, then it would be a reasonable possibility. But it is far too soon and he and his supporters are far too capable.

I may not agree with Dean and his supporters on a few issues, but I will defend them every time some idiot like Limbaugh attack them like this. They are dedicated with a messages that they believe in, they are part of the Democracy is. Unlike the Right wing tactics of manipulation and lies, Dean and his supporters are out there adding to the debate, not stifling other opinions.

They way I look at it now, it is a win-win situation for me, if Dean does not do well, less competition for my candidate, if Dean does well (and again, he and his supporters are very motivated and capable) then Limbaugh looks like the horses ass that he is, again!

3. The first step to recovery...
... is acknowledging that you have a problem.

Look, I hate the Pigboy as much as the rest of us, but Dean is the one responsible for what's happening to him right now. Dean, and Dean alone.

Iowa Democrats, not right-wing pundits, chose Kerry. It's very, very important that we recognize this. It's also very telling, and it's the voters I'm concerned about, not the Pigboys of the world.

Maybe Im on a rant today, or maybe just a pissy mood but im a bit tired of feeling like I owe something to Dean and Co.

Dean lost iowa because of his irresponsible statements, liberal use of hate speech, and unending media gaffes!

Do you REALLY want him as our nominee???????

40. they found him "wanting" because the right-wing smear campaign worked!
They get their marching orders from Limbaugh. They rephrase his ranting as "legitimate" news stories and spread it all over. Next thing you know, it's accepted as "truth" and conventional wisdom. Iowa began believing the propaganda Limbaugh used to take Dean out that he was "angry" and "unelectable", just like Rush hoped.

You think these things were true about Dean because you read them in the papers and saw it said on TV over and over again. Just like pigboy and his cohorts planned it! Question the "media", not our candidates! And don't give up on Howard Dean!

11. Dean is the ONLY candidate to take on Limbaugh head on
Beacuse of this, Limbaugh singled him out for a full onslaught smear campaign. It was the names he called Dean that began popping up in the media, and finally took hold as conventional wisdom.

Pigboy did a full-on drive-by hit on Dean for daring to stand up to him. And so we are going to follow Pigboy's cue now and forsake Dean??
We are going to let Pigboy win and dictate our votes??

And one last thing; I got to shake his hand (again). I said to him: "You said in Knoxville that we wouldn't be afraid of guys like Limbaugh. They are coming after you." How long until Limbaugh's constant smears on Clark begin to creep into news stories and finally take hold as conventional wisdom about Clark, too?

It's coming. You Clark supporters will see, and you'll be just as disillusioned and jilted.
If we don't let the right-wing media do it to Dean, then they won't be able to do it to any of our guys. If we let them get away with Dean as it seems we are, then each and every one of the candidates will get their turn too.

Edited on Wed Jan-21-04 05:50 PM by LibertyChick
What do you propose we DO to Rush Limbaugh, who I and most liberals don't care about, and whose fan base will believe anything he says, anyway?

If Dean had a problem in Iowa, he needs to start looking at himself and his campaign, and stop blaming everyone and everything else on the planet. Someone else said this above, and it is sound advice.

We could write Limbaugh, but since his drug problems, only members can write (e-mail).

I agree with Clark:" RL is full of shit (and drugs)."

38. Write letters supporting a fair and thorough investigation, write his
advertisers asking them to not support him while he is trying to derail a non-partisan criminal investigation in to his actions.

Write them from the Republican web sites as a Republican who hates drug users. It would be especially ironic to have the email sent with the pro Repub. messages that get attached.

26. Speaking of Rush's shit, did you know he used to use it to make money?
From an amusing story about Rush when he lived in Kansas City:
Adventures With Jeff

I have met and partied with Rush Limbaugh.
It's true methane breath.

"Getthefuckoutta here," you say! Of course when I knew him, he went by the
alias of "Jeff Christie." This was back in the "old daze." Late 1974, 1975.

I met "Jeff" through a mutual friend. "Jeff" was fresh off the turnip truck
from Bootheel, Missouri. My buddy was the all night DJ at KUDL FM, a great
"underground" radio station in Overland Park, Kansas. We were all partyers in
those daze and Jeff was a major league party animal. He was a tall, dorky
kid, slightly overweight just trying to fit in. "Jeff" was a prankster even then.

He would ask someone for a 10 or 20 dollar bill to show them a trick.
Today those bills would be like a $1000 dollars. He would then take the bill
and stuff it down the back of his pants and wipe his ass with it. He then
would attempt to give the bill back to it's owner and say, "You want this
back?" He often picked up extra change doing that.

. . .

http://www.bartcop.com/bs621.htm

Interesting that Rush still makes a living by spreading his shit around.

Today he was meandering around about dropping pounds without exercise, cigars preventing the flu, just truly ridiculous stuff. Even in that tame territory he was unable to avoid self-contradictory statements.

What an asscyst-wipe. Keep the change, Limpballs.

"We cannot allow the right-wing pundits to choose our candidates. They have their script written and they just drop the front-runner's name in the blanks. They will just do the same to Kerry now, and then the next guy. When are we going to learn?"

it's like the kids game of telephone or something. flush and his ilk grab whatever handle they can find. then chris matthews tones it down, but say "people are saying"... then aaron brown says it, then wolf blitzer says it.
i heard the guys from move on this morning on the radio. one told this story- my brother is a news junkie. watches the 24/7 tv news. he called me and said- do you know anything about these candidates? cuz i have i no freakin idea what they are about, just who is up, who is down, and who has what problems that the folks in iowa might not like.
i really think that howard lost to the spin. unfortunately, lots of people here have bought into it. and don't tell me- i saw the speech, end i blah, blah. if you hadn't already bought the spin, you wouldn't have felt that way about it.

We are going to stand up to them and support ALL of our candidates or they will do it to the next one, right?

Dean was targeted because he was the front runner, and the right-wing wants to keep ALL of the Democrats down. They are systematic. It was never about Dean or his supposed "gaffes". They weren't "gaffes" at all! We AGREE with what he has said!

They are trying to dismantle our arguments, one by one, candidate by candidate, to keep us off-balance and weak!
They have turned Dean's POWERFUL platform into a "gaffe". And now they are turning their attacks towards Kerry and Clark.
They will manufacture "gaffes" for them too, and they will be the "joke of the day" next week!
