I found this statement to be utterly ridiculous. It was posted on another board I frequent. Well here it is in all it's stupidity.

"Everyone got tax cuts .. most people making under 30k/year don't pay a dime in federal taxes so that monologue wont get you very far.

As far as law enforcement/education go, this is NOT something the federal government should be involved in at all. This is a state and local issue, every state has different resources and different costs, as well as different demands on the education system federal funding just screws things up. With that said the public schools in the US are so screwed up the amount of money is irrelevant. You could dump 1trillion/year into the school and our education would still suck compared to the rest of the world. We already spend more / pupil then any other country and have near the bottom of the result stack, money isn't the solution."
