Teddy Kennedy Is Spanking Lil' Timmy Russert This Morning!!
Go Ted! Don't take Lil' Timmy's bullshit. I hope the Dems learn to go right at Russert when he tries to ambush them using his patented "video" ambush questions. Going on the defense on Lil Timmy's show is not the right strategy!

9. No different from *. Some see a leader & I see the worst president ever.
It's amazing how two people can see the same thing and come away with a complete different view of what happened. That's why we must judge people on their actions and not on what they say. Thus, my correct conclusion about the worst president ever. No accomplishments. Zip. Nada. Nothing.

14. People do see things differently, but thinking people are willing to
discuss their opinions in an arena of debate. I am willing to debate anyone on what Teddy Kennedy just said to Russert. Just throwing an opinion out there and high tailing it away from any serious debate tells you a great deal about a posters position and opinion.

I'd never actually sat down and listened to one of his speeches until I caught one on CSPAN. Sad isn't it, but I'm a political newbie this year. I've been watching CSPAN tons more than I used to.

I was actually surprised by how much damned sense he made. I hope I get a chance to see this later on MSNBC. It's not on at the moment here. Then I'll see who's making sense.

As for our friend above (who I now see has been removed), I think he was a drive by.

We shall see if he reappears to defend is now deleted post.

11. Well,
I haven't watched the Ted Kennedy interview yet, because Rummsfeld is still on. They are fighting about what he said to the soldier who asked him about why his humvee wasn't armed.

When someone further up talked about "falling" into Russert's "video trap", I responded that when someone is on video doing or saying something, they should be able to back that up.

an opportunity to defend a position that will be exploited by the braying whores like Limbaugh, anyway. It is a chance to state the best case in the face of controversy.

Rummy right now is FIGHTING w/ Russert over the "army you have not the want" quote, and he SHOULD have to defend that. He should stutter and bluster, because that was the DUMBEST possible thing to have said. Next ( after commercial break) will be Teddy, blustering and stuttering about something else.

29. You miss the point about Lil' Timmy's video ambush tactic
He is notorious for only taking snippets of a long statement and using those snippets in a dishonest way. The snippets that are selectively chosen DO NOT reflect the statement as whole. That is the "ambush" part of his video playbacks.

55. Another example of this was in the Kennedy part
Russert played Kerry saying "NO" to withdraw 12,000 troops and again to the question of a timeline, then listed other Dems against timeline for pullout and asked him about his split with Kerry. (Last week being only 7 days ago, I remember the rest of Kerry's stmt showing a lot more in common with Kennedy) Kennedy denied they were far apart.

43. what???? can't back up??
teddy kennedy said a 1/3 roll back on * tax cut will shore up s.s. for good..
its that clear cut...a roll back of 1/3 of the tax cut that benefitted 1% of americans is all it will take to make s.s. safe forever...
s.s. was in wonderful shape with an incredible surplus until* dismantled it and robbed it blind in the past 4 yrs..

so what does * say about s.s. with any credibility?? why * will privitize..but what he doesn't tell you is that the money your money makes on wallstreet is not yours..at least not the first 3% you never get that..and you never ever get to touch that money..its not yours..you are getting it on a loan..its borrowed money for you that you can never touch..ever..so what have you gained?? a loan?? and just what do you get if * picks your stock and it never goes over a 3% increase...you get nothing but debt!!

you need to do some reading... start here !!
bush has robbed us unlike any leader in my 53 yr lifetime..you need to wake the hell up!!

p.s. i am in the 1% who has benefitted from * tax cuts...i dont need it or want it..!! and a roll back would not effect my lifestyle..but it sure would protect millions and millions of americans senior years..my kids included!! top drinking the kool aide and do some research ..stop parroting the idiocy of this criminal white house and look for the truth..or suffer the consequences..and you will suffer..i will not..other than my moral heart will break for those who were punished by ingnorant americans who didnt care enough to know the truth!!

read this and know what * has done to s.s.!! and why he is trying to cover his ass with pirateization!!
honey those of us in the 1% tax cut recieptiants wouldn't even notice a tax increase for shoring up s.s....its the multi billion $$ corps that don't like the idea!!

but quit making excuses americans for your plights..do the dang research..its not that hard...the day you reconcile your check book this month use goggle and read ten articles how bush is out to screw you and how he has already screwed you...i have no sympathy any longer for americans who are too dang lazy to figure out that their media has abdicated its constitutional obligation to americans ..but americans keep drinking the freaking kool aide...don't cry to me when you are 65 and you don't have a pot to piss in...i warned you and so did most here that are great patriots who gave a damn enough to do their homework ..yes your nation and your constitution are your homework..not once every four years , but each and every day!

Edited on Sun Feb-06-05 11:48 AM by zulchzulu
It is always an obvious time for Russert to use Repug talking points to hammer Democrats and do soft-ball questions to "interview" Repugs.

If you look at today's show, it was apparent that Tim let Rummy go off on tangents and not answer questions while he kept hammering Ted with the same cheery-picked quotes and Repug talking points.

It should be called "Meet The Neocons".

41. Such a crock. What were the weapons inspectors? Chopped liver?
They cherrypicked the intelligence, massaged it into a well-documented pack of lies to coerce an illegitimate war... Now they have the temerity to blame "bad intelligence"? They chose to "listen" to the voices they wanted to hear, while they stiff-armed the voices of reason and "good intelligence".

The blood permanently stains their hands, no matter how they gyrate in their excuses and rationalizations to wash it away.

46. The "F" word: facts
Russert is a close friend of Rummy's, keep that fact at the ready for evaluating anything that went on. Russert provided a very grand opportunity for Rummy to spew his bile. Notice that Tim failed to point out the denials from the contractors that the Pentagon had asked for increased armour production. Also, missing the logic board: if it suddenly only takes 4 months to get the damn shit armoured up, what were they doing for the past 2 years?

Watching Ted Kennedy on MTP. Whoa....finally someone calls them on one of the lies they repeat without rebuttal: no one predicted this level of insurgency. Say what? Why has the regime been allowed to get away with this whopper? Remember the article that the rightwing along with their helpers on the left was sooooooo quick to pick up on; the one that General Clark wrote for the London Times? That would be the same one that Russert quoted to the General in an interview on MTP where nothing was asked about policy finding it so much more important to stick to repeating vile rumors? Yes that article: the one in which Wes Clark warns us of the difficulties that were ahead of us in Iraq including insurgency and civil war.

Ted Kennedy also pointed out--again, how or why the regime gets away with these transparently inaccurrate statements boggles the mind--that plenty of countries have over turned their governments, had elections, and become emerging democracies without having us invade them. Maybe TK took the time to read "Broken Engagement." Or maybe he just has a functioning brain.

Now wouldn't it be great if Russert had more than a functioning big fat wallet?

TK did a fine job this morning with the exception of a rather garbled answer on troop withdrawal (benchmark vs timeline vs no-fucking-plan-at-all,) but it was in stark contrast to the usual Dem neglect to point out the the bs being spewed or the neocon spewing. I gage these interviews by how close I come to advancing the theory that the TV needs to meet the window.

60. Maybe Kennedy can give Pelosi the Dem solution to SS cause she
evidently is too chicken shit to take a stand. I'm so disgusted with her!!

62. wouldn't that be nice? btw, I wear a blue paper clip now at school
nobody has asked me about it yet, but one of the kids.

I should have been ready for that, but wasn't, and hedged a bit, talking about Norway, WWII, and how some people still protest against things that are wrong

luckily, we were just in the hallway, and had to go

have to say we are reticent around here regarding hotbutton issues like FOS, etc

sad to say.....

52. Kennedy was in top form this morning.
It seemed like after every other sentence, my husband said, "Now, who couldn't agree with that?" Everything Ted said made perfect sense, plus it was a pleasure to see the Democratic wing of the Democratic party at the forefront for a change.

54. but don't we seem outnumbered?
Even the surviving son of one of America's most famed political families, the patriarch of a family that has sacrificed again and again and again, yet ....we are still outnumbered and outlied, by a fat greasy mediawhore like tim russert!
note: Joe Kennedy Jr gave his life for his country in WW2 yet his dad can be mocked for being a 'nazi sympathizer' by pigfat supporters that will not see the hypocrisy of the grandson of prescott bush being held up as an example of patriotism!
'i have no mouth yet i must scream!'

58. I missed the Rummy interview,
but I thought that Russert was his usual bushie-butt-boy self with TK. His MO with democrats is to jump in with some set up question/accusation and do everything in his power not to let them give an answer. However, when giving a difficult question to a repug, he allows lots of rambling time with good natured chuckles of agreement. I didn't see the Rummy piece, but I bet there was not that much 'feet to the fire' going on.

59. That's pretty much how it worked. Rummy got every opportunity to change
the subject, lie and sermonize, which he took, and he still managed to shit all over himself.
