2. C'mon
Are you STILL defending Lieberman after the Gonzales vote and the Bush kiss?

3. Puh-leze
Frankly, I don't care about his vote on Gonzales. I'd care if Gonazles were nominated for the Supreme Court, but this was a cabinet appointment. He was going to be confirmed anyway, because every Republican voted for him. I don't lose sleep on purely symbolic votes. Besides, even if Gonazles were defeated, Bush would just send up another nominee who was just as bad. If we really wanted a different cabinet, we should have nominated a better presidential candidate.

As for the kiss, if you're the kind of person who gets upset over two men kissing, that's YOUR problem. Don't try to drag me into it.

7. Are you saying Leiberman's atrocious behavior is Kerry's fault?
You can't believe Leiberman would have been a better nominee? My stars!

9. I'm saying the president gets to pick his cabinet
Just imagine how DU'ers would react if Kerry were elected and the Republicans in the Senate decided they didn't like his cabinet choices and simply voted them all down. The DU'ers would be screaming bloody murder.

Sorry, but the Democrats are wasting their time picking battles over cabinet nominations that they have exactly ZERO chances of winning. I don't fault Lieberman for not going along with this kind of posturing.

5. Some people don't think a show of srength against torture is important,
nor is betraying the Democratic Party on was intended as a unified protest. It also isn't important that Leiberman has indicated he won't defend the Democratic cornerstone of Social Security. Hey, what's not to love? The guy is a true blue Republican!
