NH Union Leader: 'Dean's meltdown: His temper is now a serious issue'
HOWARD DEAN’S Monday night meltdown was a moment when millions of Americans looked at their TV screens and thought to themselves, “Who’s that professional wrestler?”

....There may well be two Dean phenomena. The first was his singular talent for igniting the passions of frustrated Democratic and independent voters. The second may be his unique ability to send those same people fleeing into the arms of his more emotionally stable competitors.

ouch.. with editorials like that in New Hampshire, it doesn't look good for Dean.

1. Yeah...union people hate passion.
I've never seen an angry union organizer.

3. Anger is OK...
at the right time.

But while listing the names of states? It just came across as exceedingly odd.

17. He was just rallying his supporters.
He was trying to be positive and energetic for his supporters during a sad time. That was what he did. Nothing "crazy" or "unstable" about it.

4. It's not a union paper.
It's a right-wing rag, which endorsed Lieberman. At least that's what Clark supporters were saying in response to a hit piece on him ;-)

16. Ahh...well, I don't care what it says, then.
LOL

Yeah, the right-wing paper that endorsed Lieberman badmouthing Dean isn't going to go over well with the Democrats in NH. :scared:

2. I am not a Dean supporter but
I believe the Union Leader is a right wing publication. I would take that editorial with a huge grain of salt.

7. Manchester Union Leader
The Manchester Union Leader is as right wing as they come. They make Peggy Noonan look like a leftist.

15. It is the same rag that screwed Muskie, after they made an attack
on his wife, and he responded. They actually enjoyed writing about his 'emotional' response. I believe that the publisher at the time was a guy named Loeb, but I'm rusty, and he's probably long gone.

19. Yes...
The foul old scum is taking a long dirt nap. Last I saw (several years ago), his equally decrepit and demented wife was cranking out that swill. At least the NY Post has a certain grisly entertainment value. This thing is just a mass market Dartmouth Review.

6. "Meltdown?"
Hmm. I don't think I'd want a subscription to a tabloid like that. Give me a break.

8. The Union Leader's a right wing rag that thinks bush is too liberal.
Handy for housebreaking puppies.

9. The Union Leader is notoriously conservative
Seems funny to me that so many Democrats side with this paper, Tucker Carlson, and Chris Matthews over Dean's Speech. Strange bedfellows, indeed...

11. They slammed Clark really badly last week
and just endorsed Lieberman, so it's not worth the paper it's written on.

Oh, & last week a Clark hater posted the negative article, so we could do with less of this junk.

13. that paper endorsed Lieberman this week
Even this anti-Dean person who scoffed at that speech thinks that paper isn't credible enough to wrap fish in.

14. Union Leader endorsement is kiss of death
They endorsed Lieberman. This is not exactly a progressive paper.

In 2000 they endorsed Steve Forbes over Bush* because Bush* wasn't conservative enough for them.

18. Okay, that is actually frightening.
Bush* was conservative enough for them? Yikes! Figures Lieberman got that endorsement.
