Kinky Friedman is running for Gov. of Texas!
"I have achieved a lot of my dreams in life and I want to see that young Texans achieve some of theirs," Friedman said in a telephone interview, adding, "I want to be governor because I need the closet space."

9. Kinky gets along with quite a few people.....

He runs an animal rescue center & is a Peace Corps veteran. Knowledge of his lyrics (from the old Texas Jewboys days) can be quite enlightening.

8. Ratso for Sec of State!
You'll only get this if you read his books. If you haven't heard of them, you are way lamer than you think, and people point at you and laugh behind your back.

11. One thing to be said for all this...
between the Kinkster, and Gov. Goodhair vs. Senator Bighair catfighting it out in the Rethuglican primaries, this is going to be entertaining as hell. I'm not really sure that the Dems should even run a candidate (although of course we will.)
