SS Reform - tide-turner for 2006?
so i was speaking to my mom over the weekend, and we were discussing the AARPs fight against SS privatization. i guess they realize they dropped the ball with medicare.

Do y'all think this might help us turn the tide come the mid-terms?

If we Democrats can't organize and beat back these rats on THIS issue, then we might as well start calling ourselves something else.

I don't think we can retake the Senate (in2006 anyway), but the House ought to be in play.

9. don't have the list in front of me
but IIRC, it is highly unlikely that we'll pick up six seats in 2006.

8. I agree.
i think in large part, we have to follow AARPs lead. They're putting out full page ads, they're running commercials, sending it int heir letters, we just nee to bang the drum and parrot what they say. start the meme as it were. and then toss in the bits about changing your represntation if they aren't making decisions that benefit you.

6. I am still convinced they own the vote tabulators. I'm sorry, I know that
is way down on the pessimistic side, but if the same system, same machines all the same voting crap is still in place in 2006, the repukes will pick up House and Senate seats regardless of what horrors go down from now to then. I think the repukes are actually holding back on their "we own it all, you bastards!" nightmare gloating until after the 2006 rout from hell that will really kick us in the gut. Yeah, hard to believe with what * himself is gloating about now. It's going to be much worse.

All I can say is that I will still vote. I'll still keep on trying. Seriously, though, what difference does anything any Democrat does great or repuke does horribly wrong, if we can't get our votes counted correctly.

I only throw this pessimistic opinion in once a month or so now. I'll try and stop saying it at all very soon. Promise.
