Where to find news to post: We need to pick up where K. left off
Edited on Wed Jan-12-05 03:11 AM by Liberty Belle
The late-breaking news section has been awfully slow since we lost Khepfra, who posted so much of the good articles in DU.

I propose that we all try hard to search out news stories and post them in the LBN thread. If you don't know where to look, here are some places to start:

www.buzzflash.org (liberal site with links to lots of news from mainstream publications and blogs)

www.alternet.org (liberal news site and blog)

www.tompaine.com (liberal blog with great editorials)

www.mediamatters.org (articles on the media)

www.democracyforamerica.org (Howard Dean's organization; has some news links as well)

www.democrats.com (liberal blog)

www.dailykos.com (liberal blog)

www.thenation.com (moderately liberal news magazine)

www.reuters.com (French news service)

www.slate.com online news mag

www.salon.com online news mag

www.usnewswire.com (public interest news stories)

Also we need to monitor the mainstream news, so check the news sites for CBS, ABC, MSNBC, CNN, and FOX.

Foreign news sites: Reuters News and the BBC News, for starters. The Guardian in London is very liberal and most irreverent to the shrub.

Newspapers big and small: New York Times, Washington Post are important, but also try LA Times, Chicago Tribune, San Francisco Times, Denver Post, Philadelphia Inquirer, and any of the Florida papers so we'll know what Jeb's up to now.

Don't forget the Iconoclast in Crawford, Texas. They have fantastic liberal editorials and are now read worldwide!

Motherjones.com (liberal labor publication)

News magazines: Newsweek, Time, US News & World Report

Conservative sites (to see what the other side is up to): www.drudgereport.com, www.freerepublic.org, www.newsmax.com

Check the political section on news sites, but also other sections. Science sections often have environmental news stories, for instance.

Perhaps some of you can post your favorite news sites, too.

Happy hunting, all. Please keep kicked until everyone's had a chance to see these.

2. it will take a bunch of us pitching in to do what Kef did
and I doubt we will do it as well but we will try, we will never give up. Kef would have never given up.
