The Democratic Party meetup is tommorow - who's actually getting involved?

It's one thing to complain about the Democratic Party, and another thing to get involved so that you can affect change, or maybe even understand why things are being done the way that they're done. Who is getting off of DU and coming to the meetup tommorow?

3. I'm the new precinct committee chairman for my precinct 26...
Of course I'm sort of pissed at the Democratic party in general simply because I don't think they have the will to fight the bullshit that's going on in this country, but I'm not going to sit on the sidelines and do nothing.

4. I went to the Palm Beach County DEC meeting last week
and you would not have believed the spectacle. They had just had an election the previous month, the 75 year old chair had gotten displaced, and she spent the whole time grumbling and heckling the new chair from a seat immediately behind me. The rest of her friends did the same. Some new observers said they would never return. I probably wouldn't either, except that I'm determined to help make some changes.
By the way, it was Jan. 6. It didn't occur to any of them to discuss the actions in congress that day, until one person (not an elected member and therefore not technically allowed to speak) got up and asked what the hell was going on. Lots of us applauded.
The leadership doesn't care about electoral reform, but others from my neighborhood do. We're determined to work on it on our own for a while and then insist to the DEC that they recognize how important the issue is.
No wonder we lose. What a mess. But I'm going back next month, even if it kills me.

5. We have plenty of time to complain about the DLC...
...but not enough to actually get involved in the Democratic Party.
