Roemer completely unsuitable as DNC chair
Not that I was ever thrilled with Roemer, but this piece: http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/week_2005_01_02.php#004340 by Josh Marshall puts the nail in the coffin as far as I'm concerned.

"Roemer was one of the Democrats that voted against the Clinton budget of 1993 -- the one that in the end won by a single voted and cost Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinsky and so many others their seats. (Not just the big vote, but a number that led up to it.) Then he was one of an even smaller number of Democrats who voted for President Bush's 2001 Budget bill. If I'm not mistaken, he was one of only 9 Dems in the House to vote to make the Bush cuts permanent the following year."

How anyone could consider this guy for DNC chair is beyond me ...

Don't know who I support for sure ... I think Dean would be good, or maybe Rosenberg. But definitely not Roemer.

1. Yeah, throw him overboard.
Good riddance.

This is absolutely kooky, that he would vote on those pivotal budgets that way, and still be considered for a leadership position.

That cannot be allowed to happen.

4. I'm with you
If that happens it sends the signal to the rank and file that we don't count for shit. I don't know where I'll go or what I'll do but I will not be able to support the DNC or the "official" Democratic Party. I'm absolutely sick to my stomach at the thought of it. There are a few good people who I could live with. Dean is at the top of my list followed by Simon Rosenberg - maybe Donnie Fowler but I have to find out a little more about him.
