Check out this stupid survey on CNN.com:
Was it wrong for a soldier to ask Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld a reporter's question?

http://www.cnn.com

---------------

Surprisingly, it hasn't been freeped. The score is 82-18 No.

1. I predict desertions by our troops in Iraq....
eventually...it's bound to happen when tours of duty for 6 months become four years, and discontent and conscience pass the point of tolerance. My question is "where do they go?" Most likely country would be Jordan. Would King Abdullah give them asylum and safe passage to Canada? Would Canada extridite them at Bush's request?

2. From Jordan they would likely get passage to any country likely
to grant political asylum to soldiers fleeing an unjust and illegal war: France, Germany, Spain and the Netherlands, to mention only a few.

That list of hospitable countries is likely to grow. Given Idiot's disdain for treaties and international law, perhaps even Canada will set aside that extradition agreement made with a more trustworthy government. In fact, given the chilly reception to Idiot's last arrogant policy speech, I think we can count on it in the not to distant future.

3. I'm trying to put myself into the mindset of our typical midwestern grunt.
- just seems like Canada would be the logical place to resettle. Things look bright for Jeremy Hinds and others who have fought extridition. Even for non-troops like me Canada is looking more attractive. They are proving, more and more each day, that it is a more civilized and tolerant country than the USA. I am alarmed at the downward spiral of America - into a cesspool of greed, religious intolerance, utter stupidity, and increasing violence and "me-first-fuck you" atitude- especialy of our kids who are too young to know what a real christianlike life was like in decades past.
