There is only ONE to blame for the bushCartel;
The US STATE MEDIA.

THEY are the ones to blame for bush ever being given a chance to steal the vote in 2000.

THEY are the ones to blame for bush's 1st and 2nd coming.

THEY are to blame for the war of aggression against Iraq.

http://www.fair.org/reports/iraq-sources.html

THEY are the ones who MISINFORMED 70% of the American population.

http://www.commondreams.org/headlines03/1003-08.htm

THEY are why 60% of bush supporters are STILL MISINFORMED. bush supporters DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT THEY'RE SUPPORTING.

http://www.pipa.org/OnlineReports/Pres_Election_04/Report10_21_04.pdf

MOST of that 60% said they would be AGAINST the invasion & occupation of Iraq and would NOT have supported bush IF Iraq had not done 911; IF the world had not supported the invasion; IF Iraq hadn't had WMD for a decade.

Well surprise, idiots; IRAQ HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH 911, the world DID NOT support the invasion & still doesn't, and Iraq hasn't had WMD for over a decade.

But almost half this country STILL don't know these FACTS! WHY don't they know these FACTS?

Because the US State Media keeps them misinformed.

MOST bush supporters are WRONG on what they think bush's stance on various issues are.

WHY are so many still so misinformed?

Because the US State Media keeps them misinformed.

Politicians LIE; and THAT is why the US media has special Constitional dispensation. They are SUPPOSED TO INFORM US AGAINST OUR GOVERNMENT, NOT be in cahoots WITH our government.

IF the US majority JUST KNEW THE ACTUAL HONEST-TO-GOD FACTS, bush would NEVER have come close to a win in 2000, let alone a "win" in 2004.

NEVER.

The majority of Americans, including the rightwing, are NOT so evil/nasty/stupid as to support a nasty lying little failure of a moron warmongering criminal such as bush & his cartel IF THEY KNEW THE FACTS.

But they DON'T know the facts! Almost HALF THIS COUNTRY don't know the plain, simple facts that schoolchildren in India know. And WHY?

IT'S THE US STATE MEDIA, STUPID!

7. I gotta say, brundle...
Edited on Tue Dec-07-04 08:42 AM by LynnTheDem
NOT that you are a rightwingnut, but your question is a VERY typical rightwingnut technique. Rightwingnuts so commonly ask if everything is ok as an implication that the person is NOT ok and the message can therefore be ignored.

Just because I'm posting FACTS in a forthright manner, why would you ask if "everything" is "okay"?

10. oh I didnt mean to come across like that...
I had a bit of a meltdown yesterday, and was posting like a madman.

It was my meltdown, so perhaps I took my prior emotions and inadvertantly transferred them, mentally, unto you....

I hope I have done no harm.

please post away. :toast:

My first thought was some freeping rightwingnut was pretending to be you, lol!

:toast:

I'm fine, other than getting rather tired of progressives critiquing KERRY for losing when they should be critiquing why bush won ANY votes beyond his 25% fundie morons, and THAT is because of our US State Media, which is doing a very good job at keeping the US majority totally ignorant of the FACTS.

POOR KIDS rollerblade; POOR KIDS skateboard. BOTH of those hobbies are just as cheap or just as expensive as snowboarding & windsurfing.

WHO DECIDED Kerry's hobbies are only for the "rich elite"? The US STATE MEDIA. WHO DECIDED Gore was a liar? The US STATE MEDIA. WHO IGNORES the FACT that BUSH is the BIGGEST LIAR on the face of this planet? The US STATE MEDIA.

If JESUS ran for office, the US STATE MEDIA would STILL MISINFORM America in favor of bush. BUSH LOVES BIG CORPORATIONS and THEY LOVE BUSH. NEITHER of them give a shit about We The People.

And I just wish We The People would WAKE UP to that FACT.

2. An informed citizenry is necessary...
...for Demcracy to work. Bush* supporters and wealthy RWing Ideologues hate Democracy and the Free Press. This is why they've placed operatives in the right places in government to deregulate the media and spent billions of dollars consolidating the corporate press.

Ironically...it was Clinton's telecommunications act of 1996 that led the way for all of this to happen. Before that...the Fairness Doctrine was trashed to allow RWing, partisan talking head pundits to dominate the public airwaves.

4. Well done!!
Great post! Don't forget the complicit churches!! Part of the fascist regimes current success is due to the churches who preach politics and play to people's self-righteousness, of which there is plenty in America the Arrogant.

Good post Lynn.

12. besides, I mostly agreed with your post
that's why I kicked it. I thought the :eyes: would give away the attempted humor about Nader. See, of course, it's not Nader, but the corporate media, like you said, that is the problem, but instead people .... never mind. Why don't you tell me I'm on the wrong forum again. That's the "progressive" thing to do :eyes:

14. Before 11-3-04, I blamed the media, the Congress, the Supreme Court,
but now I lay all this squarely on the shoulders of we the people who had enough information to choose wisely: we the people most surely get the government we deserve.

15. I think it's Americans
I mean, everyone here has gone beyond the official media, right? We live in the same country as the Bush voters.

Americans don't want to be informed. They want to be comforted, placated, entertained, have their egos stroked. I'm involved in a local project in which we must convince our local government to give us soemthing they don't want to, and I am continually surprised by people on my own team who would rather have their egos stroked than make progress toward our goal.

I'm not saying the media isn't a factor, but we made them. If there was money in telling the truth, they'd tell it. There isn't because the average American doesn't want the truth.

I wish I knew what to do about it.

17. I agree with you completely...
... the "media" dispenses this "feel-good", "American is never wrong", "just what you want to hear" pablum because that is what gets viewers.

Americans do not want to have to defend their positions, they don't want to listen to anyone else in the world, they are like a bunch of titty babies.

And so the media is happy to comply and this is what happens.

I've said it before and I'll say it once more (today) :)

This country, all of us, are going to reap what we sow and it is not going to be pretty. Then and only then, when the economy is in chaos and god knows what else is wrong will Americans sit up and notice that things are not going so well. At that point, the finger pointing will begin and the right wing will do its very best to redirect the blame but owning all three branches of government that will be a hard sell.

Things HAVE to get a lot worse before they can begin to get better :(
