Bush's writers got it wrong with the quote "America is our best friend

whether we like it or not" being said by someone in 1960...It was said by P.M. Jean Chretien in 1995, when he introduced Bill Clinton to speak before Parliament.....Clinton laughed so hard I thought he was going to fall off his chair....and Clinton got standing ovations during and after his speech...Another thing, Bush said "I know it's not easy sleeping next to an elephant"...He got that line from P.M. Pierre Trudeau when he said jokingly that being a neighbour of the United States was "like a mouse sleeping next to an elephant. When the elephant rolls over you feel every twitch"...
By the way....he seemed to be expecting applause throughout his speech....He didn't get it....Mostly just polite applause at the end.

2. Didn't you think it was arrogant of Bush when he replied to the
question regarding the poll that showed the Canadian people overwhelmingly disliked him with:"the only poll I'm concerned with was taken on November 2."

Anyway his speech writers are all hacks. Using the words of mostly liberal politicians and writers.

3. ungh. He's an idiot.
I heard his 'five finger' statement on the radio yesterday and I cringed. It wasn't the statement that made me cringe but his little mousy "heh, heh" at the end.

I've never been so ashamed to be an American
