The Penn Hills Lady who took on Santorum over Cyber School
http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/04327/415581.stm

<snip>

Vecchio is taking on Republican U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum, who has listed his residence as Penn Hills ever since he and his wife, Karen, bought a two-bedroom house for $87,800 there in 1997.

Vecchio, who lives near the house, said she was surprised when he first showed up to vote at the polling place at Forbes Elementary School, where she votes and is a Democratic committeewoman.

"I said, 'What are you doing there?' '' Vecchio said.

And when Santorum told her he lived on Stephens Lane in Penn Hills, Vecchio said, "Oh, no you don't."

"Oh, yes I do,'' the senator replied.

Quote: "I went to Eat'n Park today with my mother. People were standing up and clapping for me."

12. He went to the fake house cause that way he was voting in PA
The fake house is his front for PA Residency.

And they call Hilary a carpetbagger! At least she has a home she actually lives in in NY!

18. Why wait. The Repubs would be playing this tune for the next two
years non stop. Democrats expose it, then move on. In two years, a lot of folks have forgotten or moved away. Then when you bring it up, it's "dirty tricks," instead of "dirty deeds."

2. I'd have clapped too.
Anyone who makes a point of showing us what a dumbass Santorum is, deserves applause.

Besides that, she's the model Pixsburgher with her hair piled high and wide.

5. I want to buy her lunch
I hope this story doesn't die on the vine. Not just the sleeze involved with his Cyberschool scam but how this guy defeated the incumbent Democratic Senator using the "he doesn't even live in PA" strategy...well, what goes around, comes around Ricky ol' boy.

10. How about Ricky whining that Erin is "just bitter" cause Kerry lost
oh boo hooh Ricky - you're the bitter one cause you got caught in your sweet little scam on the taxpayers.

Santorum said he thinks the matter is a "political game.''

"I applied in the normal channels for this program ... This is a bitter person who is upset that they lost the Senate race and they lost the presidency.''

8. And my next two question to Senator Santorum are
1) "where were your kids enrolled in school in 1995, 1996, and 1997?"
2) "what was your primary residential address in Pennsylvania between 1995 and 1997?"

It seems to me if he had his kids enrolled in any district in PA between 1995 when he sold his Mt. Lebanon home, and 1997, when he bought the Penn Hills home, and can't provide proof of residence, he owes even more money to someone. Add to that if he didn't provide proof of residence during that time, or did so despite having a residence in PA, I smell more trouble.

17. This could be huge.

If they can get a democratic prosecutor to subpoena his records he could be in for some big trouble.

Off the top of my head:

1). He most likely had to sign an affidavit for his homeowners property tax exemption. I thought I read somewhere that he mentioned filling this property as his primary residence and receiving the homeowners exemption. This was part of his justification for claiming it as his residence. PERJURY.

2). The school reimbursement. FRAUD. I'm sure he had to sign some sort of affidavit for this program. PERJURY.

3). If he wrote off the Pennsylvania address as his primary residence. FRAUD/PERJURY/Filling false tax returns.

It couldn't be that hard to get the ball rolling with an investigation of the school district issue and subpoena his records to determine if he did in fact spend "100 days" at that address.

They need to start with the "actual" residents of the home and get them on record under oath. Next, they need to move on to his records(travel/credit cards) to try to place him where he and his children were on certain dates.

It's hard to believe that someone in his position is stupid enough to pull this stunt but look at Carol Mosley Braun(pocketed mother's money when it should have gone to the state for nursing home fees) and Dan Rostenkowski (misappropriated stamps and went to the slammer).

oh boy oh boy..please DO take it to court Ricky....please be that stupid...please please:

"my only remedy would be to go to court, but at this point, I don't believe I want to go that route.''

13. And Santorum is threatening to
see his lawyer, too:

Santorum said Friday that he thinks the district is wrong but "my only remedy would be to go to court, but at this point, I don't believe I want to go that route.''

I thought Repukes didn't like lawyers.

14. Does anyone Dem have a view of the house from theirs?
because I know people who like to set up weather cams (you find links at www.weatherunderground.com)

they should set up a "weather cam" and it should point in the direction of that house, and we'll see if the Santorums live there.

I mean, it's really looking at the weather, but hell if it shows that Santorums don't live there, well that's just gravy! :)

15. Her motivations are not the issue....

"I applied in the normal channels for this program ... This is a bitter person who is upset that they lost the Senate race and they lost the presidency.''

It is his PA residency and use of taxpayer dollars. The focus must be kept on him!!!!
