What if Kerry had announced some cabinet choices before election?
Might it had created an interesting story/debate that would have dominated the last week or so of the campaign and maybe been enough to put Kerry over the finish line?

What if Kerry had announced (for instance, none of these names are in stone) Joe Biden as Secretary of State, Jesse Jackson as UN Ambassador, Wes Clark as National Security Advisor, Dean at HHS, Max Cleland at Veteran Affairs, ect.

Or would it have backfired?

1. Jesse as UN ambassador?
that would have cost him votes

that's just not a good idea

overall, people don't vote on cabinet choices--they vote on the nominee

2. No impact
It would have had a lesser impact than the naming of Edwards as VP. People for the candidate, not his surrogates.

3. WHAT DOES IT TAKE with you people?
Kerry didn't lose -- it was STOLEN (again). NOTHING he could have done differently would have made a difference. NOTHING.

Forgive me, but I'm getting SO sick of people not getting it. The election was stolen. You wanna make a difference, or you want to spin your wheels on the wrong damn questions?
