The Republican "Big Tent" Is Really A Small Shoebox
Edited on Wed Nov-17-04 10:08 PM by ruggerson
...full of radical clerics and their followers.

Arlen Spector is chased by a pitchfork wielding mob of radical religious righwingers, demanding that he be removed from consideration for Judiciary Chairman, because of his pro-choice views.

Meanwhile, quietly, over on our side, we elect a Minority Leader who is pro-life. There is nary an institutional peep from any of the pro-choice groups or the leftwing of the party. We are willing to give Reid a chance. He seems like a decent man. And we are not a one issue party.

Haven't the Democrats, this week, just calmly shown who REALLY is the big tent party? And why has no one in the media pointed this glaring fact out?

The Republicans have been shrieking for years that they welcome everyone. Sure. Maybe in their fevered, childish imaginations.

We just had a real life test of who is inclusive and who isn't, and guess what? We won, kids.

Now, if any of our leaders would use the media to hammer this one home, over and over again...

1. Great point & it should be hammered home
And we need to make the new talking point: Republicans are extremists...dangerous extremists!!!

While they have villified liberals, we need to villify them.

2. Not only vilify them
We have to turn "conservative" into a dirty word.
