Bayh/Obama, unstoppable?
Bayh: governor and senator can definetely win on these "values", midwestern appeal, makes a solid red state of indiana in play. the gop will definetely have trouble attacking Bayh as they did Kerry. as for obama he fires up the base and minorities. together unstoppable.

for those who hate bayh for being to centrist, we need to work on the "culture" of america before we can once again run liberals. that takes grassroots and people like Dean.

1. Obama will be four years into his first Senate term.
Not anymore near experienced enough. If they want a minority for VP, go with Harold Ford Jr., or Bill Richardson.

Let's wait a couple of years, and then see where we are. Who knows, a massive scandal could break within the * administration, and someone who isn't even on the radar yet could emerge.

5. Uhh...Bill Clinton was a member of the DLC
If Bayh were nonimated, he would have to have a liberal VP, preferably a woman or minority to bring in the base of the party. Sure, Bayh may not be the perfect the candidate, but no one here would not vote for a Bayh/Obama ticket!!

before the national ticket stuff starts? He has served ZERO days in the US Senate and people want to run for president? This guy can be a force for years in the US Senate if we let him. Something tells me he's too smart to let this kind of talk get to his head.

16. In My Life, Clinton praises Bayh's father and wonders what went wrong
with the son. I forget how he puts it, but he characterizes Bayh as abandoning some of the core aspects of what it means to be a Democrat.

I trust Clinton's characterization. And although I've tried to pay attention to Bayh's career, I have to say that the only thing I remember is being underwhelmed. I think that's pretty revealing.

He is way too inexperienced. I would even question him being up for the job. As we saw with Edwards, it takes more than looking pretty to win. We need someone who is weathered and experienced and is trusted by Americans.

19. Bayh / Biden '08
If you think Bayh is too far right, we have to do what we have to do to get back in power. Between Bayh and Warner, I'd rather have Bayh. And I'd like to see plain spoken and foreign policy guru Biden balance the ticket for those worried about Bayh's moderate record, despite his plagiarism past, I don't see that as a major issue.

26. Evan Bayh probably can't get past the Primary
since he has voted for restrictions on abortion whoever else is running would just use it against him. and abortion is one of the issues that is important to the democratic party voters, especially since those in the primary tend to be more liberal.

31. Any ticket with a Senator at the top is bad ticket
in my opinion. Their long Senate voting records are too easy to use to mislead people.

Must Run a Governor

Mike Easley or Phil Breseden.

If not a Governor someone like Wes Clark

35. Why Is Sen. Bob Graham (D-FL) Always Overlooked?
If he had been running with Al Gore instead of Lieberman in 2000....

If he had been running with Kerry instead of Edwards....

He's always been popular and respected here in Florida, a good vote-getter with moderate Republicans.

Howard Dean is a centrist. Bayh is a DINO right wing wacko.

You guys have to stop characterizing right wingers as centrist.
By this definition the only difference between a neocon and a centrist is one has a "D" after his name.
