Poll question: Should Howard Dean head the DNC?
Howard Dean has support and worked tirelessly for Kerry. Should the new direction of the DNC acknowlege the Dean wing by having Gov. Dean chair?

1. In my opinion he is perfect for the job
right now we in the grass roots need a fighter and someone who will lead the troops and give us a morale lift. Dean can do it. He can also raise lots of money, imo.

Of course, if he does this he is forfeiting running for President in '08.

2. I don't think the Democratic Party could do any better
Best choice available, IMO.

Donna Brazille would eb an utter disaster. With Dean, we'd stand a chance of winning some elections and not have our asses handed to us in the 2006 midterms.

6. I'm ambivalent myself
Most of you know of my DFA affiliation.

I honestly don't know whether this would help.

I can see where it may dilute the message of DFA. But DU is a good microcosm of Dem thought, no question

7. Neuter Howard?
No!

I so hope Howard is wise enough to understand that accepting the DNC chair would neuter him and grievously thwart the growth of DFA. Not to mention a run for president in '08.

10. We don't need him running in '08
We shouldn't run any more liberals from the northeast for about 50 years. The last time it worked was when Kennedy was elected in 1960.

12. If we don't clean up the voter fraud problem
we won't need to run anyone in 2008, Howard is one person I can trust to do it.

9. How much influence does this position have?
If it's just raising money to put a few cosmetic changes on a party in need of some real restructing then no. That would be a waste and I would prefer to see him focus on the organization he started in the wake of his presidential campaign, Democracy for America.

19. Only if he thinks that's where he'd be most effective
I trust Dean to do whatever is necessary to put this party back on a winning track. If this is his best avenue then I'm all for it. If he thinks he'd be more effective doing something else then I'll back him even if that something else is running for Pres in '08.
