map of the youth vote (encouraging!)

If the election had been decided by the votes of those between 18 and 29, here's what the outcome would have been: Kerry 375; Bush 163

And youths did vote in record numbers this year. But so did a lot of other sectors of the population.

Hm, I assume that a few states flipped because they have a significant post-secondary education base -- eg. North Carolina. Colorado and Nevada don't surprise me, because they're on the edge anyway, but I'm a little surprised NM's young people didn't have the same impact.
