You may have noticed tonight..
That I have been going beserk about the Fallujah issue, staying on top of every news story as it hits the web.

It is because I am terrified and furious that we are about to write ourselves into the history books.

The same part of history books that contain events like.. Lidice, Dresden, Beziers.... the list goes on, unfortunately.

It truly saddens me at how many people here on DU are feeling bitter and depressed over another stolen election, so their response is "Well I did what I could, I voted against Bush, now they get what they deserve." and similar sentiments.

This is tantamont to genocide. We HAVE to do something people. Fine, you don't care about our troops - fine. What about the thousands of innocent civilians?

Also, this event is going to breed a million new terrorists around the world.

It could also very well be enough to spark WW3.

What if Iran, Syria... hell maybe even Egypt or anyone else who is sick of the US and it's global war attack?

Unlikely I know. Most likely everyone will just duck and hide and let us butcher the citizenry of Fallujah.

Who knows though? Maybe the EU will grow a pair of balls and tell us that's it and go to war. China? Who really knows what will happen.

China and Russia have a treaty, though Russia is our ally too.

Is this the America we group we grew up with?

Some of our best friends are the people we were raised to be afraid of and our enemies are our allies.

We have to act people, we need to get organized and we have to stop this madness.

Not just a protest here and there, we need to be out in full force. Everyone in this country who did not vote for Bush or who did not vote but is opposed to the war needs to do something.

I am thinking a National Strike. Possibly even a walk out. We should also be clamoring for a full investigation of the election, possibly with UN intervention if needed.

Come on people! Wake up! Our nation is slipping into the pits of the Abyss. We can lift it up and resume our place as a great nation again - but if we do nothing the rest of the world will view all Americans as being equally guilty and will deal with us the way we are dealing with the citizens of Fallujah.

1. Kick to save the lives of civilians and soldiers
Goddammit!

We have to do something - not in 4 years. We have to do it now!

2. What can we do?
BushCo won't listen to anything we do, and now they have their damn "mandate." All we can do is say "I told you so" and get ready to duck really fast.

4. We need to be willing to do what it takes
I think if we can organize a national strike. A strike on all levels... no going to work, no shopping, no nothing.

We might get our point across.

Saying "well theres nothing we can do" doesn't get anything done.

3. "tantamount to"??? 100,000+ dead and this is "tantamount"?
It IS genocide. And the genocide WILL CONTINUE.

It will keep continuing until Iraq is "pacified", because bush DOES NOT CARE how many Iraqis die or how many Americans in uniform die.

HE DOES NOT CARE. PERIOD.
