Did Edwards tried to dissuade JK from surrender?

Edwards Counsels Kerry Against Surrender

WASHINGTON Nov 3, 2004 — President Bush edged closer to re-election Wednesday, holding fast to a six-figure lead in make-or-break Ohio. Democratic vice presidential candidate John Edwards counseled John Kerry against swift surrender.

Hours after White House chief of staff Andy Card declared Bush the winner, aides to the president said they were giving Kerry time to consider his next step.

He did, in a series of private meetings in Boston, where talk of concession was in the air.
