5. No.
"Hispanics" are a diverse lot.

In Florida, with its large Cuban population, Hispanics are overwhelmingly Republican. So * pandered to them yesterday by making a veiled promise/threat to invade Cuba, or whatever, to end the Castro regime next. Nice!

In other places, with more Mexican- and Puerto Rican-Americans, people with Spanish surnames trend Democrat.

And of course even that brief generalization doesn't cover close to everybody.

6. I hope this topic "pops up" a thousand times more!!!
The machinations and gyrations designed to prevent minority votes from being counted is a NATIONAL DISGRACE AND TRAGEDY. This is plantation mentality at its ugliest. All you white DUers who are tired of this popping up consider this: next time it might be your ballot not counted because you aren't "expected" to vote for the "right" candidate because of your skin color, location or other demographic bullshit. The only way to make the ugliness go away is to expose it to the light of day wherever and whenever we see it.

It needs to pop up in the freaking media, I posted this on the 28th of October for the first time.

Yes I am a middle aged, southern white DUer, ford F150 pick up truck driven, FRIEND of many peoples of color, so don't stereotype me.

If your stereotype was true, do think I would be posting here or at free republic. You suppose I would be sporting a Veteran for Kerry bumper sticker, or a Veteran for Bush sticker?

I live in a mixed neighborhood, south of the Mason Dixon line in St. Pete Florida. I have the pleasure of living in an area with some exceptional AFRICAN Americans.

With whom I share a great deal of mutual RESPECT!

Chill, I understand your frustrations, I have encouraged many Black voters to vote early to counter any problems that our Governor has thrown up, leaving them time to fight before the elections.

We are on your side. Lets not get into a freepin race war.

Tell it to the Freeping neocons who own the major media outlets!

If I sound a little perturbed, its because I am not a white fucking racist, who is uncaring or unsympathetic to the disenfranchisement of the black voter.

You know nothing of me, so don't go off making uniformed assumptions about us "White DU'ers".

Yes, I do take exception to your comments, and feel insulted!

I could tell you loads of my personal experiences about racism, which culminated over 44 years of life. It was these personal experiences that have formed my opinions about the subject, of which are spot on with yours.

However there is not enough time or bandwidth to go into great detail.

The comment was not meant or intended as a racial slur, but obviously yours is!

8. Let's both take a deep breathe, shall we?
First of all, I nowhere in my post called you a racist. You came up with that all by yourself. Sorry if you think I did, but I did not.

Second, yes, it does need to pop up the media, and thanks for posting it for what may have been the first time. I notice someone else has posted it yet again. Good. Maybe by the time this piece has reached saturation point on DU all 50,000-plus members will have had a chance to read and digest it. They should. Depriving any minority or person of color the chance to have their legal, legitimate vote counted is tantamount to an electoral lynching.
