The first time I EVER voted was for Wesley Clark. He brought me here!
Who else here was brought into this by Wesley Clark or Howard Dean? Who else here did not vote before this election and now is dedicating their life to get John Kerry elected and throw Bush out?

1. Well Wes Clark was the reason I voted in the Primary but there is no
way I would have not voted on November 2nd.

2. I love Wes. However not first time voter.
He still motivates me more than anyone. Done all kinds of crazy things never done before in his name (canvassing, meet-ups, on-line donations, standing up for my rights, straight A's in school). He's an inspiration.

3. I've been here since January of 2001!
SO I can't say it was Howard Dean that brought me here. I was too young to vote in 2000, so I plan on voting in 2004.

4. Our General....
I'd so hoped to be able to call him my president...but as he has always done, he has done what's best for the country...he asked all of his supporters to switch our efforts toward getting John Kerry elected...His behavior following the closing of his campaign for the nomination shows what an amazing man he truly is...As for Edwards? I still can't talk about it.

5. I voted for Wesley Clark in the primary
Here he is at a rally in Detroit. I got to shake his hand afterwards! I was a committed Democrat long before I knew who Wesley Clark was.

6. I'm a Wes Clark Democrat
but it was Howard Dean who first brought me back to the Democratic Party. And right before Wes entered the primary race, I discovered Dennis Kucinich. Different men, with different points of view ... but all of them excellent. It amazed me, the quality and strength of the Democratic primary field. And the way they have risen to support the Party and John Kerry as he stands against the first great darkness of the 21st Century ... yeah, buddy.

7. I voted for Al Gore in 2000
But Wes Clark is certainly the first political figure that I have ever been really excited about! John Kerry is the second. :)

10. Good for you, we need folks like yourself
The first time I voted was for George McGovern way back in 1972. That election...Nixon vs McGovern... reminds me of this election. Nixon had a secret plan to get us out of Vietnam (of course he had that same secret plan in '68). The devisions in the country were similar and I think some of the hatred the vast right wing conspiracy felt toward Clinton had its birth in Watergate.

11. No, my first presidential vote was for Carter in '76
And my family has probably been voting for Democrats since Andrew Jackson.
John
But I did vote for Clark in the Michigan primary.

12. I share mostly the same story
Clark turned me on to the Democratic Party as well, and I supported Kerry fairly wholeheartedly when he began to support him.

I voted for him in the MI caucus, the first chance I got to vote. I was so very very happy, and I worked very hard to get him elected.

I wish I could do more now as well.

13. Wes Clark was my guy in the primaries
and I got to see him again today. He's terrific! I got involved in his campaign about a year ago, and was sorely disappointed when he dropped out last winter, but he got me inspired to stay involved and keep working hard for Kerry and Edwards (whom I have gotten to like very, very much in the meantime). My first vote was for McGovern in 1972, and I worked on his campaign, but after he got his ass handed to him by that creep Nixon, I pretty much stayed out of politics. Until now. But it was Wes Clark that got me really fired up again.

Edited on Fri Oct-29-04 09:02 PM by Gloria
was the one who got me involved in the primary process for the first time....actively and with passion! (I was a McCarthy fan, voted for McGovern and have been voting ever since!)

16. Wes Clark
is the reason that I became a Democrat. Voted for Nader in 2000.

Now when I think about it....I don't even know how I could have voted for that automatic loser Nader. Guess being in California matters little anyway, these days!

17. My proudest vote
in the 21st century has been for Wes Clark! The General made politics real, personal and a profound learning experience this year. My 2004 political denouement was a really painful experience!

18. It was being energized by Dean that brought me to DU
Although I'd been an advocate of the Democratic Party long before. It was Florida 2000 that made me angry.

19. I supported Wes Clark
And I still do (donated to Wes Pac recently). Kerry was my senator and I thinks he's a great guy also.
