I know you say you were just trying to scare her, but she could have been seriously hurt. That would be wrong.

I was relieved though to hear you say that, and I'm impressed by your honesty. You were just exercising you rights to free expression you say, and there's a lot to respect in that. The theft of your state's Democratic votes set off four years of misery, and you rightly blame Harris. I can hear your defense in court: 'I lost my job, I lost my health insurance, I lost a loved one in an illegal war . . . I just lost my head.

Maybe you heard about the missing absentee ballots, or maybe you heard about the voter intimidation in some neighborhoods and began to despair about another stolen election, the prospect of continued mismanagement and mayhem.

Anyway, I'm glad to hear that you didn't actually mean to harm Harris. All that probably happened to her was a broken stiletto heel, a broken eyelash, one eye mascaraed shut, crooked hair implant, one epaulet hanging three inches lower than the other . . . Glad to hear that.

They caught him and he said he was just trying to scare her and was executing his rights to free expression. Along those lines. The arrest of the driver is an AP story that I heard on CNN but I can't find it on the line yet.

Cops: Florida man tried to run down controversial Republican
OCTOBER 27--A Florida man has been charged with attempting to run over controversial Republican congresswoman Katherine Harris with his Cadillac. According to the below Sarasota Police Department report, Barry Seltzer, 46, told cops that he was simply exercising his "political expression" when he drove his car at Harris and several supporters, who were campaigning last night at a Sarasota intersection. Seltzer--pictured at right in a booking photo--allegedly drove up on a sidewalk and headed directly for Harris before swerving "at the last minute."
