Let's Make the Fake Weapons Story Just as Big as the CBS Fake Memo Story
October 26, 2004 | Michael Katz

Posted on 10/26/2004 8:37:02 PM PDT by Mike10542

I just watched a segment on the O'Reilly factor with Dick Morris. Morris made a great point. The parties involved in this smear are the UN, CBS, the New York Times, and the Kerry campaign. Not exactly the circle of parties I would want to be involved in if I were Kerry. What this story says is at the most Kerry got early word from these groups about this fake story to hurt Bush and at the least, Kerry immediately used a story from these three sources to hurt Bush without even checking its credibility. These groups are a joke obviously. CBS has no credibiltiy anymore, the New York Times is just as bad, but most importantly the UN, which most of America doesn't trust, was a partner to this smear, which further proves Kerry is somehow either in bed with them or is quick to jump in bed with them to hurt Bush, America and our troops in harms way. This is a big story and we need to ensure that it becomes one. Let's put Kerry on the defensive these last 6 days, especially to thwart off any future October surprises they may try.

Even Ann Coulter on Scarborough did not think it would be as big as Rathergate. But, the bottom line is that once again, the media IS the story. No longer is what the NYT reported being discussed. Instead, it is the veracity of what the NYT reported that is being discussed. The NYT is on the defensive for reporting a story that was meant to put Bush on the defensive.

I'm up for it. Give us some direction as to what we can do.

1. well it is old news, wrapped up in a new tortilla
In some ways, it plays into their hands - terrorists from Iraq want to use those things to kill you. I would rather we focus on the plethora of failures at home. What has * done in 4 years??? Really. Can we make a list of positives and negatives (with relation to the common goals and good we hold dear)?

I think all we need is a report card on all fronts. Environment, economy, terrorism, deficit, and so on. He fails across the board. * focuses more money and time on other countries than he does the country he was selected to be president of. He has failed on the home front. Period. What more do we need??

Some explosives went missing in a foreign country. Ok. A government went missing here in the U.S.. Here is * term in a nutshell - 9/11, Afghanistan, Iraq, Tax cuts. This is what the right has to show the voters. 4 years. 2 wars. Looming deficit. Gas through the roof. Jobs gone. Patriot Act. Shall I go on?

Missing explosives somewhere in the ME? I have enough already to show why we need to vote kerry, hell vote just about anyone. * had his term, it has been a shambles, change is good. October surprise? How about the October Report card on what * has done for the US - from Indian Affairs on down the line - he has spent more time on wars and scaring us with terrorist stuff than anything else. He is wrong. Kerry is right. Period, end of story.

The message we need to send - Bush flunked, replace him :)

Good post though, sorry if I got off on wrong foot with the title!
