new "enlightened" stance on civil unions yet? That I've got to hear. These people...AND the Focus on the Family AND the Family Research Center...AND the Concerned Women of America...oppose civil unions...domestic partnerships...let alone gay marriage.

4. Is that new "stance" pathetic or what?
Man, talk about tilting at windmills. Treat people like dirt for four years, then in desperation at the last minute, reach to them. I wonder what the Imodium supply is like in the White House lately? ;)

5. I'm figuring we can now get ENDA, "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" lifted....
hate crimes legislation quickly passed. I'm sure the President will convene an emergency session of Congress and will use all of his clout as President to make things so much better for us gay Americans.

Ok, Lisa. Now I'm being silly. I think it's been a LONG day for this DU'er. :-)

6. We can't even get a hate-crimes bill passed in Washington
The wingnuts claim it violates "freedom of speech" to be able to beat the shit out of someone because of their sexual orientation, apparently. :grr: (ok, have to watch the blood pressure....)

7. Bush adamantly refused to support hate crimes legislation.
Even after Matthew Shepard. Even after James Byrd, Jr.

8. It's sick. It's disgraceful.
And, sadly, it's only ONE of virtually millions of reasons why we need to dump his evil ass next Tuesday.

9. they've been briefed by Rove
Just like "compassionate conservative" it is a familiar con - pretend to be tolerant and middle of the road. Say any-fucking-thing, promise any-fucking-thing, then the second after inauguration, take a hard right turn and hit the gas. The lazy, corporate media will remain silent as long as you keep your dick in your pants. The rest of the fundies know this is merely another shuck and jive act and they will remain silent now, knowing that they will get theirs later when SCOTUS appointments are up.
