12. Is this from the 2nd half of the intelligence report
that was supposed to come out after the election, or is this something different?

8. Bingo!
They may very well have leaked it, but I have to say I'm disappointed in the CIA. Decades of throwing elections and this is the best they've got? I mean, it might float in a nation of people with brains, but here it'll take them too long to understand the significance, and long before that happens they'll be distracted by a pretty object like the Scott Peterson trial.

10. Maybe They're Not Done Yet
Also, have to keep a lot of criminal stuff under wraps til Kerry is sworn in.

Don't want Bush pre-emptively pardoning people.

11. I Agree
The Pentagon stands to lose credibility and the possibility exists of mutiny among the troops; I don't think they're responsible.

The CIA, on the other hand, has had to endure repeated slurs from the * admin concerning their Iraq intelligence - plus the Valerie Plame affair, which must infuriate career intelligence officers.

it could be just about anyone who has access to this information and the power to use it. My bet: someone in the CIA. Yes, Baby Bush, now you know that payback is a ....

9. The freeptards think State leaked it to kick their little Booshy's butt.
I can't believe that anyone would view this as a leaked story. This information should have come out long ago. But I guess it's a leak if, no matter what it is or how much of a right we have to know about it, the information could reflect negatively on their boy.

13. It should have been public long ago. It shouldn't have had to be leaked.
Edited on Mon Oct-25-04 10:41 AM by w4rma
But, it wasn't made public. And therefore no steps at all were taken to reduce the damage that this did to our nation's security. It wasn't leaked because of the damage that this does to Bush's political security (he could obviously care less about our nations security).

14. The media is playing us, as usual.
Didn't we KNOW about these missing explosives? I could have sworn that I've heard of this before.

But for SOME reason, the media is just getting wind of it now? Don't buy it. They decide what is "news".

Unless you're asking who "okayed" it.

18. Iraq Gov't through the IAEA
from the Times article:
Earlier this month, in a letter to the I.A.E.A. in Vienna, a senior official from Iraq's Ministry of Science and Technology wrote that the stockpile disappeared after early April 2003 because of "the theft and looting of the governmental installations due to lack of security."
