Poll question: How many of you have voted early or plan to do so?
I'm just curious about this.

1. Voting from home is really convenient
Especially if you live in one of those states where you have a lot of propositions, referendums, and judges on the ballot. In AZ ours is like 2 feet long. It's so much easier to do it from home where you can look up all the information and take time to make your decisions with the ballot right there.

2. I voted early the first day it was allowed.
It was easy as pie, and I'm so happy I don't have to worry about some last minute rush to the polls, then standing in line, etc., etc.

3. Georgia has specific rules
for absentee ballots that we don't meet. So we'll vote on the 2nd.

4. This isn't absentee. It's early voting at a poll site.
My husband and I both voted early, but not through absentee ballots.

10. Early voting begins Monday 10/ 25, in Georgia!
It rund from 10/25 to 10/29 (M-F) It's in your Sunday paper if you want to confirm this. They call it Advance Voting here for some reason, and this is the first General Election Georgians are allowed to do it.

I intend to vote on Wed. which is my day off.

They will have electronic voting machines set up at your voter registration headquarters. Here in Hall County, they are going to have 7 voting machines, but I don't know if that number of machines is the same in every county or not.

11. Georgia's Rules
True. In order to vote absentee in GA, you must meet specific requirements. But, starting tomorrow (Monday) you can early vote in GA (no requirements at all, other than being registered to vote). Give your county's election board a call or call your local Democratic Party HQ. They can tell you where to go. Often times, your early-voting location and your regular voting location are different.

:dem:

Kerry on!

8. Absentee ballot from Cluj . . .
Edited on Sun Oct-24-04 01:39 PM by MrModerate
And no, that's not a county in Florida you've never heard of, but a city in Romania you've never heard of.

I was able (despite the FVAP's best effort) to get my absentee ballot sent to me and then sent back via diplomatic pouch (thanks to the local American consul), so I'm fairly sure it'll get to my polling place.

Only rub is I'm registered in Calfornia, so I'm pretty sure how my state is going to go.

But that's OK -- I'm tense enough about all those other states to make up for any loss of anticipation back home.

have surgery on Friday...if his cardiologist okays it (back surgery). So they voted. If I was elderly and we could vote early in Pa, I would vote... I've GOT to vote and not let even death get in the way...

15. Voted in North Carolina yesterday!
We waited until our local independent weekly came out with their election-wide endorsements, because we have a lot of judges, state officials, and state constitutional amendments up for vote in NC. The ballot was two pages long - probably about three linear feet in length.

In NC, this counts as absentee voting at the precinct. There were easily 50 people waiting ahead of us in line on a Saturday afternoon. They all looked like Democrats to me!

We drove up to the polling place with Patti Smith's "People Have the Power" on our cd player. The Kerry workers cheered.

17. I voted Thursday in Lee County, Florida.
The ballot ran 20 pages on the touch-screen machine. Lots of local offices and constitutional amendments to go through. I strongly urge all Florida voters to vote early, because it is clear to me that there will be long lines of people waiting for hours to vote, for those who wait until Nov. 2!

21. Hurray for Oregon Vote By Mail!
3 votes here-myself, hubby and the friend who lives with us. We all voted as soon as the ballots came in the mail and walked them over to the public library the next day. Our five-year-old dropped them in the ballot box so he could have the thrill of "voting" too. Score: 3 votes for Kerry and against Measure 36(anti-gay marriage) and one future Democratic voter.
