Paul McCartney endorses John Kerry for President!
Last night at the Bridge School benefit in Mountain View, CA, as Paul McCartney was finishing the song "Let It Be", he said "Let it be, Let it be...Kerry". The crowd of 20,000 responded with a thunderous roar (a few isolated boo's could be heard as the cheering died down).
to paraphrase Michael Moore "when you have the Dixie Chicks, the Boss, and a Beatle against you, your days are numbered..."

5. No, he's not a citizen....
Just a citizen of the world. Charlize Theron supports Kerry too, and I don't think she's a citizen either.

11. That may be true....
he did marry an American; but, did Linda McCartney become a British citizen, or did she retain her American citizenship? If she retained it, her kids would be dual citizens too.

13. Not sure about Linda....
She may have been dual as well. Do not really know.

And if any of his kids were born in the US, of course, they're citizens. Not sure on that. Mary was def. born in the UK, not sure on the rest though. Probably UK now that Im thinking back, they lived in Sussex, I believe...

Regardless, his opinion has huge influence. The Beatles were strictly told to avoid expressing an opinion on Vietnam because of their huge influence with people. Remember John and the Jesus thing?? :eyes:

17. Okay, then children born to American citizens are
themselves American Citizens--her kids must be dual.

6. I don't know. When Paul questioned the motives of the Iraq war
in 2003, a few freepers tried to slam him, but other freepers seemed to contort themselves to give Paul a break because "he's one of the Beatles, for heavens sake," as I remember. Be interesting what their take is. I know they don't want to throw out all their CDs.

10. Did the Bridge School kick him out like that Vegas hotel did the
woman singer who criticised the Chimp? (Sorry, I know who I mean but I can't get my mind to work today. Linda Rondstadt?)

Too bad McCartney doesn't show up at one of Springsteen's concerts, like Clapton did at the Stone's tour a couple of years back. That would really cause a stir.

15. The Bridge School gig is an annual event that Neil Young sponsors
for children with cerebral palsy. Neil Young has a child with cerebral palsy and I believe he started The Bridge School.

24. Update- He did it again tonight!
After performing Let it Be, Paul paused, and very deliberately said, "like I said last night, Let It Be...Kerry". The crowd went nuts, and this time, I didn't hear any boos, but I did hear a guy behind me mutter "I can't agree with that".
On the way out of the venue, there were two enthusiastic young women taking donations and giving out Kerry buttons and stickers. Way to go!
